  • What Character options do you think are missing from most MMORPGs?

In threads like this in other forums over the years I've seen Two recurring requests: fat people, older (gray hair) people.  In the case of the latter, it was unsaid (but assumed) that their stats would be the same as everyone else: the analogy is of the fit (goes to the gym, can bench press YOU without breaking a sweat) dude with gray hair. We all know someone like that.

With the recurrance of those requests you'd think would make the game companies put these options in.

My own request, coming up, is going to seem subtle or minor compared to most of the posts on this thread, but here goes:

I would like more options for a female character that has andro/butch style.  Short hair, no obvious makeup in her features, a jawline you can cut diamonds on ... that sort of thing. Hardly any games have good sexy short hairs for women (Fallout 3 being one exception).

  • Something Mind-Numbing (In A Good Way)

Torchlight. Hack/bash/slash/shoot just about everything. No choices except where to allocate points on level up and which gear to enchant next.  :)

Core game is boiled down to the essentials: skill stuff and take the loot. One town whose purpose it just for the player to sell/buy stuff and get/turn-in quests.  Then bam, back into the dungeons.

Bonus: it is one of the few games where a pet is not a high-maintenance bother. It will even go to town to sell loot for you while you continue playing in the dungeon.

There is a second Torchlight but I never played it so cannot comment on it.

Warning: if you have carpal-tunnel this game will be triggering it.

  • Why do people hate isometric?

I suppose that I should not be bothered by isometric graphics, becuase I've played text games and curses-interface text games (rogue, moria), but I am iso just *bugs* me. So constrictive. The closest I've come to an iso game was Torchlight, though that is actually true 3d in that there is correct perspective.

  • How would you make your mmo ?

While I admire some of the leading mmo makers for their imagination, I would not subject myself to that type of financial risk or that many people posting that I suck.

Which is too bad for those of you who might otherwise enjoy a game about Gothic vampires with large bosoms.

Hmm, boob size could be part of the  settings in chargen?  :)
