I played on the EU servers and I think my characters are all gone by now.
Initially when I betaed and played the game at launch I had difficulty sticking to it. I would get to Bree and for some reason I would stop playing but once I got passed that I managed to get the character all the way up and also bought the Mines of Moria expansion but my friends quit playing so I quit too and I have never come back after that. I had about 5 characters all fairly high and this was before the F2P thing. It's a good game the quests are very good and you also had some interesting group mechanics. The colour thing.
I think you are well aware (but are using this to advance your own agenda) that the people making threats do not make the issue they supported wrong. You're merely trying to use this bad behaviour to paint the whole community or cause they support wrong.
I didn't see any bullying but you did post very nastily on the threads and the posters here rightfully responded. What they should have done was ignored you completely but that is hard to do with so many individuals. The best way to treat a person who deliberately tries to insult and write in an obnoxious manner that skirts the rules is to completely leave their post unanswered as this one should have.
I felt though that your justification to use the threats made by some individuals as an example of the behaviour of the whole community who are merely raising an issue an attempt by you to throw the discourse into another direction should however not go unanswered.
I know this is a very abbreviated way of expressing the difference. The games nowadays seem more interested in how fast you press buttons than actually making an engaging one. The shift towards action orientated games is drawing a different crowd altogether and old fossils like me are getting worried we won't find anything new to play any more.
