To the OP :
First off let me say I don't intent to "convince" you to stay. Every game isn't for every person, you either like it or you don't and there's no point in arguing about it.
That having been said, if you DO decide to stay in Eve here's…
There is nothing to rethink, take a 20 mil sp pilot in any BS you please, equip it with an officer fit and put a 40 mil sp pilot in the same ship with T2 or best named gear, assuming two competent players are in control, who wins every time.

Playing Eve solo is very boring.
It's MUCH better in groups. Missioning in groups. Mining in groups is actually quite fun. Fleet pvp is so much fun I can't begin to describe it, it's almost as fun as sex.
The content of Eve is not the NPC's.…
Heh
Eve and EQ2 have nothing in common.
That's like saying "which is better, The Sims 2 or Falcon 4.0"
The answer is they are both good depending if you want to fly a plane or watch your character make woohoo.

MMO's are moving towards PvP as endgame because it creates content without development.
It takes alot less work to plop down an arena and say "ok kill each other" than to create an additional 100 quests and 20 new instances.

The problem first of all is that PvP is a highly specialized activity.
Some classes are great for it, others aren't.
So ppl who roll a PvP class and spec for PvP basically always win against ppl who are specialized in PvE.
Its a known fact tha…
"Community" in WoW consists of small groups of ppl.
My guild is my "community" everybody else doesnt matter.
The main challenge of most MMORPG's is not gameplay, its social.

Well lets define "grind"
The word is totally subjective.
If you are advancing your char and you hate it then its "a grind"
If you are advancing your char and you enjoy it then you are just leveling.
Whats the objective difference between far…
Meh.
Bottom line is that humans in general suck.
Ppl in WoW inspect you and say things like "wow your gear sucks" just to put you down
Ppl in Eve gank you then trash talk you
Ppl in Everquest do the passive aggressive thing, they simply dont…
I don't understand the whole "I'm hardcore but this is too much grind for me"
What exactly do you want the game to do for you?
You DID all the quests.
Even once you hit 70 you still have a good 100+ quests to do, some of them long chain on…
WoW isn't really designed to be that intricate or deep, it's designed to be like Diablo but online, where you grab the female archer and just start wailing arrows.
Theres different "stages" of the game to get you hooked.
