I wonder about it because it is being touted as a survival game but if it has things like levels and dungeons I don't know what to expect. The fact that is is being made by an MMORPG studio in their favorite IP in which they still maintain an MMORPG…
I think if you go into this game looking to check off things that are not as good for you as they appear to be for others you should just hang it up now. Fair does not live in Elyria I'm thinking. I plan on working for everything I have in game, and…
I see a GM account as more of a job than something that simply allows me to cheat the game. You will be required to respond to situations in game which means you will be having to give up your own agenda at times.
Because they have a very pen &…

World of Warcraft
Responsible for MMORPGs following a trend of cartoon graphics, simplified gameplay, theme park design, combat-only gameplay, gear treadmill. etc.

Levels? Hmm that surprises me.
What's wrong with levels? They provide a sense of progression which a lot of people really like, myself included. What I really want to know is what d…

I love things that can change what is possible at a given time and place in the game. It is more interesting to me to have to wait or to go somewhere else to do something than to have it happen just as I wanted despite the circumstances.

I'm surprised that with as much experience as you all have with MMO's that you cannot separate difficulty from tedium. Let's say you created a game like EQ1 today.... no quest markers... week long spawns.... non instanced dung…
I remember doing Heriocs in NGE SWG. At the end of the dungeon 1 or two things would drop and we would roll for them. If that happened in a game to day people's heads would blow apart from the radioactive unfairness.
3 Favorite Things:
-Nostalgia at visiting the areas
-Lore and Look
-Skeletons hanging around under sea wrecks
3 Crap things:
-Horrible Quest Hub Gameplay
-Combat that feels so disconnected it's like you are watching someone else play.
-Housing that…
Even though it has a design that seemed to be aimed at kicking my sensibilities in the nuts, I had fun in this game until performance killed it. I would get into a map and the framerate would inexorably drop until at the boss it was a slideshow.
