Dear Joe,
Thank you for your review, couple of questions - You mention a day job, is that day job a games reviewer? I ask, because even within the limited word count, your scribblings are not in my opinion a review. How about answering a few basic…
there was a 15 day free trial and a buddy programme (invite a friend to try free for xx days) but i am not sure if it still running. Have a look at the main website
Great game in its day with some trully great moments ...."2 full gals hot dropping on a cc roof" superb. But like many people, it got repetetive after a few years and faded away. If you have never played it - give it a try but populations are low no…
A good review helps a potential gamer / customer to purchase a game by imparting information that only playing the game can provide. Devoting space to telling me how pretty the game is pretty pointless as i can see the screenshots. Subjective statem…
shoddy review which fails to cover some basic infomation:
What is the control method - point & click, keyboard, combination of the two?
How big is the world, what methods of travel are there - is the content geared towards solo / group play?…
600,000 registered members and a constant flow of banner ads makes me assume this is a successful website. If you look at other "geek" sites that grew (hexus, tom hardware etc) they have managed to transition from glorified forum to commercial entit…

Sure, and payment will be in what... dollars or just good will? BTW - i …
hmmm... journalism is not that hard.
Who, What, Why, Where, How and When.
i will write a simple plan:
1) get press release
2)remove bullshiit
3)use expert knowledge or background research to expand on / contradict what is being said
4)As…
A mmorpg with 20 min battles where a lvl 17 can take on a lvl 24 and a lvl 11 and through skill, strategy and tactics ..almost...prevail. That sounds like fun
Never played vanguard, my understanding of it i have gleamed from people who have played it and various articles. On paper, it sounds very promising but from what i have read and heard, it seems to have stumbled due to lack of basic accounting. The…
Hmmmm...you write well LordDraekon, although you do exaggerate somewhat. If you look back at many of the 250 comments to the orginal "review", you will find that the bulk of the rational posts were about the fact that review was not up to the stand…
A shame i had to find this article in the pub ... more of this is should be on the front page of MMORPG.com. Unfortunetly, this would not go down well with advertisers i imagine. Keep it up Paragus1
Have no comment on the rating givern or whether LotR is a good or bad game. However, to admit that the review was in fact a "preview" is a strong editorial stance and i applaud MMORPG.COM for its honesty.
hmm... you lost me drbaltazar, i have no problem with guild wars or scoring systems. You like GW - that is great. My issue is with the quality and depth of the the LoTR review.
Big fan of MMORPG.com and have been for a number of years but rarely post. The problem i have with this review is that it is simply not detailed enough for such a significant IP. In comparison, this is your review of Guild Wars:

Lets take a first person shoot-um up, Battlefield 2 for example. No levels, only a few "unlocks" which increase options but not relative power. Within this game, you get a range of skilled and unskilled players. Groups of players that work well as …

The day you die, the earth will still be there...so it doesn't end, not before a few million years anyway. of course there would be an aging system, but…
How about a radically idea - the end game is...well the end!
Everything ends; Football seasons, civilisations, films, books, single players games, marthon races - why is it that a MMORPG has no end other than the day the developers decide to pull…
Asked this question before but never an answer - with the majority of high end items in games like WOW etc typically bind-on-pickup in an dungeon requiring 40 people to complete. Or quest based / level based - what do gold buyers do with their ill-g…
