My personal most important tip: turn off the quest indicator in you compass. Using it you will only look at your compass and miss the beautiful world around you. quests will still be shown on your map.
This game is bad.
could not stand the aiming, bugs and (in my opinion) cheaters. Came back three times after a longer break to give it a real chance, but it ended always the same. i quit and uninstalled the game.

Free exspansion but items and gear needed to play you have to buy in the c store. New ships will cost 30 dollars each. They used to give away a new ship with each exspansion. Sto is nothing more than PWE new cash cow.
…
STO had a bad start.
i joined as a f2p too and i am haveing a lot of fun. it also the only game i ever bought something in the cc store. no other f2p game was good enough to spend money in its shop (in my oppinion).
like i already worte:
its 75% …
I also like the game, joined as a f2p because i was bored and looked for something new.
i like the "starfleet command" battles. the quests/story are well made (especially some player made missions) and right now i have to force myself to stop play…
I reactivated my Account a few weeks ago and i enjoy the game, maybe because i took a long break from the game before.
Just try it, one month isnt that expensive. thats the only way to find out if you like it ir not.

yesterday there were more than 200 negative user votes, now there are only 185 negative scores. the positive user scores are all still there, even the fanboy-overhyped ones.

for me, swtor feels like bioware was making kotor 3 and than someone said: "lets give it a mmo component".
unfortunatly the mmo part feels unfinished for me.
