Star Wars Galaxies pre-NGE. There were players back then that actually became RL friends! Asheron's Call was a close second socially.

Asheron's Call for me. Played it since launch then tried AC2 when it went live. That fail led me to SWG at its launch June 2003. Those years from AC through SWG pre-NGE were the best and most immersive years I ever experienced in mmorpg gaming.
