I kinda agree with OP. In the old days I feel like there was a large open world with players just running around looking for eachother. In terms of content of that world and things to do, most games were lacking, especially compared to mmorpg's nowa…
Final Fantasy VII
Baldur's Gate II (this game was so much fun co-op as well)
I'm usually not that hype prone but.... Final Fantasy XV
ChronoTrigger
Half Life 2
Also any MOBA that u like, from super casual HOTS to LoL to Dota2. If you like any of tho…
I loved the Aion Chanter!
Also I love buffer classes, like the prophet in L2, despite being a healer class he was actually hitting hard because of all the self buffs.
It's because you guys made the mmo genre into 1 big marketing charade. Games are all the same, people like you
fall for the hype every time. The mmo genre is devolving.
Wait for the themepark bandwagon to collapse.
I'm sure in a few years there will be some great mmorpg's that add true mmorpg's elements instead of singleplayer elements.
What I do is: never pre-order. Twitch potentially good games. Revisit golden …
As a person more interested in sandbox style mmorpg's I say YES to this!
While themepark mmorpg's have their own merits and are good I really wish there were more sandbox games. There is darkfall and... maybe some other sandbox mmorpg's but they ar…
Because ppl like me want a game in which you have to find a way to lvl effectively. Reading quests is boring, I'd rather play sp games for story. The fun is in exploring and hunting for things to loot that customize appearance or stats. But there is…
You all say "yeah of course some1 is max lvl" d'oh.
Isn't that a big problem to any of you? It is a gamebreaking problem to me. I want difficulty and a challenge to even reach max lvl. I know thats unheard of these days but... yeh that is the prob…
Didn't read all the pages but the first two. I so completely agree with the OP. It sounds like one of my rants tbh.
Everybody is so focused on gameplay, it's not as important as ppl think. It's not what mmorpg's are about. Combat gameplay doesn't i…
Yes please! I don't get why people can't agree that loot is one of (if not THE) most important aspect of an mmorpg. None of the modern mmorpg's give you that thrill and suspense of the hunt for phat loots. In fact, I'm not so sure what modern mmorpg…
I'd probably still play GW2 if it had a permadeath option. Even though the loot system doesn't compliment the permadeath concept, it would still be fun to me.
The only MMO's I play at the moment are Path of Exile and D3 RoS, both on hardcore. Guess why I play those games
With the Wildstar beta last weekend I played to lvl 2, every single second I was thinking... "here we go again". So I just quit and …

You are probably trolling but seamless is a huge issue for some (like me). Zones split up a world. I don't wanna play in a 100 small worlds. I want 1 big one. Or at least makes the zones huge so you only needs about 5 or 6. It's all about immersion.
Path of Exile isn't an MMORPG..
That being said. MMORPG's can learn a lot from it. It is actually a really good game. The innovative skill system is just just superb. It shows that games don't need complex action gameplay in order to be fun. It has…
