All valid points; however, there isn't one current MMORPG that requires group content to progress. They're just single player RPGs with other people running around. DAOC is the only one that requires grouping to level. That fosters socialization and…
I never experienced the problem as I mute all chat because of gold spammers and other low IQ comments. How pathetic is a person to actually enjoy ruining the game for others? I hope the accounts are banned.
The only MMO that promoted groups was the original Dark Age of Camelot. With no quests, the fastest way to level was find a group and head to dungeon. Everyone in the group had to know their role and how to play their character.
Current MMOs d…

Why ya all shitting on them?
Did they kick your kitten or something?
It's just what we do here, especially for truly incompetent dev efforts, which this one clearly is.
Original promised deliver…
This is what happens EVERY time BEAN COUNTERS take over a company. Cut staff and pinch pennies to produce fake profits. Then leave before the whole thing burns down. DISGUSTING!
Don't be surprised if the next wave of gamers are retired. I'm getting close (within 5 years) and I look forward to having the time to play. I played DAOC at launch with my son, have invested in CU through Kickstarter and plan to play as much as I …
Honor buddy is an ironic name: there's no "Honor" in cheating and no"Buddy" would get you banned!
Botom line: if you don't want to take the time to play (i.e., you're too lazy) then don't play. The bans should have been permanent!
I attribute the drop to the short attention span of most players. After an expansion, they rush to make max level, then complain about the lack of content. I actually think they couldn't care less about the socializing that MMOs used to promote.
It…
For he venture capital firm to make money, they need to turn the company around so they can sell it at a profit. The question is: how will this firm make SOE profitable - long-term? Sure, cutting staff will help in the short-term, but they can't sto…
Very fair assessment. I always read about the "grind" but never read about any alternatives. Does anyone really have one? Life itself is a grind (run errands, work, buy stuff, etc.) so what do we expect from a game?
I'll tell you - escape. Escape …
It began with Asheron's Call (AC) - the good (wide open character customization, free monthly content, a great story, great community) and the bad (corpse runs, couldn't re-spec, aging game mechanics/graphics). The best part was the monthly update …
Considering life itself is a grind, I don't know what else you'd expect from an MMO. I'm sure you haven't explored every square inch of Draenor. Aside from permanent character death, there really isn't an "end game" to any MMO.
I have my main chara…
This is the first time since original WoW that I'm not focusing on leveling. I'm trying to actually do everything I can in each zone - it's that good.
It's fun to learn how to use my profession buildings in my garrison. And for "player housing", Bl…
This is, by far, the best WoW expansion and rivals the original game as a truly immersing environment.
I don't see garrisons eliminating the community, I see it as Blizzard recognizing the time long-time players have and giving us the ability to ac…
Honestly, any MMO can get boring - even WoW. What keeps my interest is the ongoing story and feeling a part of it. If you aren't familiar with the LoTR story, then it will be very difficult to become immersed. I've tried just about every MMO, and th…
