This quote jumps out at me from Chris Roberts' letter. "That it’s ‘feature creep’ and we should make a smaller, less impressive game for the sake of having it out more quickly or in order to meet artificial deadlines. Now I’ll answer those claims in…
Kwip's website is neenerneener.net. It's still a funny site but I don't think he's written about AC in years. None of his AC posts are still up on his site.
The crash issues appear to be server side (at least for me) as when I crash and relog i am in the exact same spot i was in when I crashed. Even crashing mid-fight the mobs never kill me, as in games where I D/C and log in to a corpse.
I've played a couple characters, the highest to 47. The game is ok, but generic and fairly bland. Here's my big issues with the game.
1. CRASHING. Lots of people having this issue, at times you can't got 2 minutes without crashing to desktop. I…

The problem is, with 2 factions.. they do have to be balanced.

While I agree with some of the arguments put forth about MMO's not having advanced and pushed boundaries like other genres, I believe there is another, more basic issue that hasn't been brought up. Other genres of game have and ending. These games …
C'mon folks. Are you actually going to believe what Funcom, or any game company says about it's plans? Not only do companies not reveal plans before they want to, they will actively lie to the public. How many times have we read press releases or…
At least as far as the MMO's are concerned, what does the economy matter? However they are released, within 6-12 months most or all of them will be F2P anyway.
My all time favorite: The Baldur's Gate series (nice avatar AlBQuirky, tho Minsc is better!)
Heroes of Might and Magic series
Asheron's Call: To this day, between my kids and myself we usually end up having an account active several months a yea…

I think one significant factor is how dumbed down most MMO's are anymore. If you were to poll the folks quitting a new game after 2-4 months, I would bet that most of them would say that they had at least one char at max level, and had either seen …
One major factor in the F2P issue is that game companies have at this point made it a self-fulfilling prophecy. As many others have pointed out, a lot of games over the last 3-4 years have come out with a sub model, but within a year (or less) gone…

The issues companies usually have with "naming and shaming" on forums are 1. it's too easy for folks to do it just to flame/troll/be rude. 2. Someone so named gets a bad rep, even if they are innocent. I'm not familier with Pox Nora, but most game…
I don't believe it's possible to make a hit sandbox mmo any more. Companies are pursuing the far larger crowd of "casual" players, who don't want a sandbox. They want to be led by the hand through a themepark, where they don't have to search for c…
