There have been a lot of games over the years that gave me that feeling -- it's pretty rare to get it now. I remember feeling like "wow" when first playing the 'gold box D&D games', Ultima series, and later on UO, EQ, DAoC, etc. Definitely fel…

Can we just remember one thing here....
Pantheon is a PvE game.
Even if there is a cash shop - it's a PvE game - other players being more powerful than you won't mean a thing.
I mean what difference did it make in EQ1 if someon…
I'd gladly pay $100+ bucks for the box for a quality game, plus a sub, plus expansions. If it's good, the higher the better since maybe it will keep riff raff out and have folks who feel more committed to their shared hobby.
I realize that might b…
It's going to be 'yuge AND dangerous! Deadly even, as in your actual character may actually die and there will be actual consequences.
Hey they said it's not for everybody. Remember that when you lose connection / power / etc on a boatride!

Huge? Judging by the last stream...No.
Can they survive? maybe.
I had been following the game for a while and when I saw that stream, it clicked for me. Maybe it won't be "huge" but there I feel like there is some pent u…
I think the OP meant "HYUUUGE", not "Huge", subtle difference there. As in the bigness of this game will make other games seem small. This game will have big hands, etc.
I'm going to try both. Don't think I could deal with full loot / corpse camping in a PVE focused game, but I will at least check out the PVP server & ruleset.
I had a great time in EQ but never understood the metagame at the time. I think I got to level 42 or something after playing off and on for 2 years. I of course never saw the end game, wasn't really good at UO before that either. It all sortof "c…
I'm really looking forward to Pantheon and recently pledged to it. Their recent stream in early December was great I thought.
Also keeping my eye on Camelot Unchained. MJ struck gold with DAoC which remains my top MMO gaming experience to thi…
If by vast progression system you mean homogenized class-collection game, then I might agree. The jury is out on how they are going to entertain gamers who are used to devoting time and effort into the character that they want to play, who instead …
I like the idea of spreading everyone out geographically. Now if they only make travel dangerous and time consuming, make death something you want to avoid, and provide strong incentives to seek groups to adventure with, then we might be on to some…
I was hoping for a game that I could sink a lot of time into -- building a character (meaningful starting race, distinct classes), making meaningful choices (faction, etc.), having some sort of differentiation between characters.
If everyone can be…
This is fantastic news. Good call on going old school. I'll gladly pay $0.50/day for my favorite hobby.
Glad to see someone is bucking the trend on the hipster F2P movement.

I was just answering the OP's question. I prefer consentual pvp, personally. But even if it was FFA pvp I would probably play the game or at least try it -- but I've had few good experiences in these types of games.
Some folks prefer looking over …
I've never played a game that forced grouping. Now I've played some games that had a higher incentive to group than others, and I tended to enjoy them more.
OP, I'm looking at you -- this is a straw man argument, EQ1 didn't "force" grouping, but t…
