RF Online has a trial atm as well. It's not as bad as some say. Grindy yes, but then so was SWG.
i gave eq2 a try and was having a decent time with an inquisitor until they merged my server and i had to change my name ...
no shame son , old SWG players will do almost anything for that hit of fun.
Never underestimate the power of stupid people in large groups.
The best thing about playing EQ2 is that you can opt for the All Station Pass; really a great deal if you're into MMOs. That way when you're 'jonesing' for SWG, you don't have to feel all empty inside ... and such, lol.
Honestly, if you were going to boycott SOE for SWG, you'd have to do the same with LEC. Life without Star Wars ... well that's just crazy talk.

One thing I like is how hardcore the PvP servers are. I got ganked as a level 10 and lost most of my gold.
I wasn't expecting that, but I sure felt some of the old rush I used to get when a BH attacked in the old days.

It's not the best game in the world thats for sure. It's just another Asian market MMO, but between beta testing and trials I'm staying busy enough not to be tempted to go back for more disappointment in SWG. I haven't had to spend a dime to keep busy.

It's kinda like EQ2 and SWG are from two totally different companies. Either that, or SOE has been intentially trying to tank SWG with incompetent developers and the worst community relations team ever assembled.

IMHO, if you can't really find a home in the game, at least make sure it's as grindfree as possible.

I tried EQ2 on launch - no way near as much fun as EQ1 used to be.
Couldn't go back to it now. No. Not ever. I only lasted 1-2 months anyway.
