To bad Helios doesn't read this forum!
You sure?
We are sure. There are to many mean people here. He hates meanies, says so on his myspace. Which is ironic since he is the biggest meanie of them all being a god-modder and all....
Well, after the numerous times he's stuck his foot in his mouth over the past 6 months, about the only good move he's made is to keep a low profile.
Indeed, all the senior guys, Smed, JulioLEC, Rogue_5, and Helios_SOE have basically been silent over the past 2-3 months. Most posts have been by their lackeys. Only the two most junior of that quartet (Rogue_5 and Helios_SOE) have posted anything at all game related in 6 months in fact.
Helios pissed so many people off that everyone in the game went rebel on TC to mass gank him when he showed up for the Devs vs players events.

Smed posted last week in relation to his blog. Helios posted last week about the new ranking system (and the week before that about the crafting system). Rogue_5 posted on the 15th about the space /duel bug on TC, along with a number of posts the week before that. Julio has never been vocal on the forums.

Well, after seeing him in action I can safely say he has his work cut out for him with his next job.
He is not at all, whatsoever a people person...a good leader or for that matter a good game creator.
You will NOT see a following like you do for Koster with Helios.... instead you will see even the Fanbois of SWG give him shit.
He is by far in my opinion the worst guy to have in his position right now for SOE/SWG. He is making his choices for the game more so then the said voting system in place for them. He is just not the type to have doing what he is doing. A simple game coder, yes.... a decision maker? No way.

Rofl, would you? Other then his blog site slamming LEC -- that was about it.

It is all about his ego. Raph probably laughed/dismissed him as a serious game designer, so now he is trying to prove Raph wrong. In fact, Raph knew what a pathetic little turd he was. And it has shown.

Yes Smedley slammed LEC and the system for the mess that SOE is in with SWG, your right he posted.
Helios posted, not only did he post but HIS WAS TAKEN DOWN AND DELETED because he said things about the game and crafting that would have almost pissed off what is left of the population.. OH YEAH HE POSTED ALRIGHT... lol
Grant posted somthing that is by all means known/ was known is no point. What people should be doing is asking him how in the fuck he did not know that clothing attachments were not dropping or working? -- They should ask him how he was unaware that people did not like the UI... etc.. (As found out at the summits)..
I tell, ya some of you fanbois have no idea what these people really know or don't. Even I was suprised to see that some of them do not even know what other departments are doing.
Famous qoute from the summits -- "Sounds like a looting issue to us" -- "we will let them know" ----

Mismanagement has ALWAYS been SWG's problem. Not the original design, not the game systems, not the players. Management has basically wasted 2 years, millions of dollars to no purpose at all, as SWGNGE is destined to close down far sooner than it would have had they stuck to the original vision, systems, and added content and expansions.
The reason why SWG has failed is because systems and design were blamed instead of failed managers, who have done two failed revisions to the game. If they are given the money and resources to do a third major revision, it will fail too, for the reason that the flawed management will create a flawed design.
Indeed, the flow of SWG development reflects that:
Pre-CU: Original game/vision, most successful SWG to date (stayed between 270-300K)
CU: First major revision undertaken by this management, kept much of the framework of the original, but failed, though did keep most of the sub base. (dropped from ~270K to 220K)
NGE: Final scrapping of ALL the remaining original game/vision, kept little of the CU much less the pre-CU, failed miserably, subscriber numbers falling down a cliff. (from 220K to probably <120K and still falling)
The bottom line: The more SWG is revised to reflect the vision of the managers and away from the original, the more it fails. Yet, these managers are STILL employed and are STILL in charge! There is Z E R O probability of SWG ever turning around until the management offices are cleaned out. Einstein once defined insanity as "doing the same thing over and over expecting a different result".
I expect that the managers are finally now on the ropes. There is NO ONE ELSE to pass the buck to now, all the original game is gone, the game that is left that is as appealing as a Rosie O'Donnell porn flick, and it's THEIR vision and design... They can't get by with blaming Koster anymore, especially when his game had 3 times the subscribers than theirs does.
Anyone daring to post this to the SOE boards will get a permaban...

That's always been my position ... pre-CU's problems weren't because of 'complexity' or 'imbalance', they were simply the inevitable result of poorly managed resources. They're just not very good at their jobs. The consistently poor delivery since the CU just confirms it.

I think this is a pretty good summation. The imbalance, in particular, was some buzz concept they tried to blame rather than fix.
