Using correct phrases

I'm in a fucking arsey mood, and as such, I need to take it out, and the latest thing to piss me off, is americans, not understanding the english language, with one case in particular:

"I could care less what you think."

THAT IS NOT F*CKING CORRECT!!! MY GOD HOW STUPID ARE YOU?! READ WHAT YOU'RE WRITING AND ACTUALLY TRY AND UNDERSTAND IT!

*deep breath* The correct phrasing is "I could not care less what you think."

Think about it. Saying you 'could care less' means that you do actually care slightly, as there is a state of mind you could be driven to where you would care less than you currently do about something. Whereas, 'could not care less' means you care as little as is ever to be possible for you about something, as there is no lower on the 'caring' scale you could get to.

Understand?

You'd better.

Hope you've learnt something today.

It's more of a dialect error that was carried over..

from "I Could not care less"
    to "I couldn't care less"
Which progresses to "I couldn care less"
and depending how your pronouce that... Sometimes the n't is so silent that you just say "could" while you physically imply the n't by scruntchin you eyes or moving your mouth to barely form the "n't"

And some retards grew up around that pronounciation... and now they think the phrase is "I could care less"

    I could care more.

This is a sequence of characters intended to produce some profound mental effect, but it has failed.

Take the golf club out of your ass and settle down, there are alot of phrases people use that make no sense at all. The thing is... nobody cares, we speak, we understand and we interact. As long as we get the idea of what the other person is saying it doesn't matter in the least.

Just use the phrases correctly and it wont matter that I have a golf-club up my arse, will it?

No, but it might have a negative effect on your mobility, either way I recommend you take it out. I ain't sayin that you ain't gonna walk around no more, but if you dont want no golf club jammed all up in your arse you might be thinkin to take it out... Sorry, but as long as that is more painful for you to read than it was for me to type it was worth it.

You know what pisses me off? Assholes who try to correct everyone's grammar when they have pretty poor grammar themselves.

Unfortunately for me, you sound just like my wife, she has the same pet peeve.  Fortunately for me that isn't a golf club in her arse...

By the way she seems to have something against the following words: vestibule, credenza, lozenge and puss.  I love finding different ways to put them all in a sentence.

How about you fix your excessive use of comma splices before you troll?
Oh, and it's: "My God, how stupid are you?"
You seem to use too many commas when they aren't needed, and omit them when they are necessary.

....um, good point though. People who have less than ideal grammar and syntax shouldn't be passing judgement on the language skills of others.

In fact, you are sadly mistaken on both counts... The commas are perfectly gramatically correct for my purposes. My mistake, is in not writing all of my posts in inverted commas. Except when typing essays, I write as if I were saying something; commas denote where you pause momentarily, and as such, to my ends, the commas are entirely correct and accurate. The fact that I'm just too fucking lazy to use inverted commas is the issue!

You don't need a comma after "My mistake is in not writing..."
Also, a comma is necessary in "My God, how stupid are you?"
You have no poetic license, stop overusing commas.

Not to detract from this no doubt important discussion but 'americans' should be capitalized.
