Would be very nice if this was a feature that came in with the expansion. It would actually be very handy and work very well. Of course the drops would have to depend on the skill setting, you dont want people rolling instances on "easy" none stop but still getting "uber loot" for easy work.

you're thinking of cox.
could we please get correspondent writers and moderators, on the eve forum at mmorpg.com, who are well-versed on eve-online and aren't just passersby pushing buttons? pretty please?

yes, it's oficial. players will be able to select dungeon dificulty. this game is doing so much harm to MMORPG world it's not even funny. where is the RPG, the challenge, the excitement, the consequences, the living world...
and couple this with the new jumping jack flash pvp arenas where fighters from all the servers meet to fight!!!!! wow, so much for the story, background, lore and anything that might be appropiate for a supposedly living and independant world.
how could anybody compare this crap to real virtual universes like UO or the very beggining of SWG.
man, i cant help it. cross-server fighting!!!!!! choose your own dificulty!!!! now you can be any class on any race!!!! yes, so much for creativity, so many options, so much originality, so much depth. lets dumb down even more the dumbest game that already exists "hey, the Horde has a unique class" "what? no, no, no, NO!!! whoever thought about that is getting fired. no uniqueness at all. everybody must be the same"
The gameplay in Burning Crusade is extremely dissapointing. For $49.99 you would expect them to add more content and gameplay to the game; but they seemed to just add on more of the same old same old to the game. It would have been nice if they added in something new to do; I guess this shows the limited scope of thier development.
I believe the way it works in there will be two versions of some dungeons a normal level and an endgame level. Chilton's example is Hellfire citadel at 61-62 and then going back at 70 and it will be harder and drop better loot.
They are not really scaled dungeons so much as way to reuse content.
The new things from this expansion by the way as a useful summary are: -2 new races -level raise to 70 -flying mounts -items that can be socketted with magical gemstones -honor system revamp -arenas for 2-5 people which will let horde fight horde and alliance fight alliance as well as each other. -10/25 man raid instances -raid dungeons will have multiple difficulty levels -an open world pvp area -dungeons that are split up into smaller subsections -more outdoor areas and a few new cities.

You can visit the caverns of time you know, theres an 'exploit', (trust me I know ) however you cant go into any of the instances, just the 'staging' area.
The place looks pretty cool and pretty weird, I was impressed. However I stopped playing WoW cos you simply ran out of things to do, doesnt look like the expansion is gonna bring anything new either.

no, i dont like EQII either. i will just play CIV4, TOCA2, Football Manager 2006 (which could be made into a great MMORPG) and, of course, EVE, the only left real MMORPG as i beleive they should be, not just single players with multiplayer mode on, but real virtual universes where you can influece the story, other players and the world history and map.

bah, i am just sick to see how a dumb game gets so much recognisement, and then great games like ATITD, AO or EVE get along without almost anybody noticing.
i mean, WoW is like playing Diablo with 3000 more players. but it got nothing special going for it. nothing you could say "hey, this is a real world, a real virtual universe, where whatever i do has consecuences and i am free to do what i wish"
pd: it seems you got some problems with your quoting
I am glad wow came out somewhat, it is a training ground for the more intriqute mmo's out there, such as earth and beyond was to me, man i miss earth and beyond.

So just because games you think are good and worthy of greater recognition. Don't get the hype you think they deserve. Then there is something wrong? Let's take Eve-Online as an example. Yes, it has some very interesting features. Thanks to Eve-Online fans popping in just about every Eve-Online and Non-Eve Online related thread. As well as ads here on MMORPG.com many know of it and have played it. The general consencus that I got from the many "Have you played Eve Online" or "What do you think of Eve-Online" topics that have been created since I joined MMORPG.com is that they find it boring. That's something that really isn't going to change more then likely. At least not without pulling a SOE and alienating their veteran player base. As great of a game as you may think it is. If people want to play it they'll play it. If they don't they won't, and it's pretty obvious where alot of MMO players stand with Eve-Online.

We've gone over the ranking here on MMORPG.com many times already. (No offense to MMORPG.com staff and the site in general.) But the rankings here are worthless. It's been proven time and time again that they are not to be taken seriously. Now here is a question for you. If Eve-Online is so good why doesn't it have as many subscribers as say DAOC?

But I DO know that the Caverns of Time better be awesome.
I haven't heard anything about that. It sounds like a pretty significant detail and I'd be very very very surprised if it turned out to be true.
-- I need a nerf --
The only detail I've heard about the WoW expansion is that only the people who shell out $49.99 for it will be able to advance past level 60.
In other words, if you don't buy the expansion and continue to pay $15 for their service, you will be level 60 forever.
Wouldn't surprise me if they did. Should change level modes to:
Easy= 'Carebear Mofo,Go Back To STV!'
Normal= 'Think You're So Tough Because You're Entering An Instance,Huh?'
Elite= 'I've Seen More Skills in an AV Battleground!'
Would be very nice if this was a feature that came in with the expansion. It would actually be very handy and work very well. Of course the drops would have to depend on the skill setting, you dont want people rolling instances on "easy" none stop but still getting "uber loot" for easy work.
