Just a random question lol. A lot of people play mmo because they dont have one and need to pass time and others play around their jobs... wondering what the proportion was like.

1 Full time and two part time jobs during the summer. That goes down to two part time jobs during the school year, going into 3rd year come September.

It's certainly getting harder and harder as the years go by to really get into any games, let alone a good MMO but I manage OK I guess.

I work full time during week building houses and dont get as much game time as I want, I dont even play a mmo now and waiting for a good one to replace SWG I guess.

I know what you mean, Xex. 'Course, I'm 17, so I could get a job, but I never even ended up getting my permit, let alone my liscense, and no jobs are within walking distance. Not that there are really any jobs to be had around here if you don't have contacts...

yeah, I'm starting my permit crap in a few days. I should have started it months ago, but what ever. It annoys me that all of my friend's parents (except for a few) are buying them cars, when i need to go out and get a job to pay for my own car. so basically i'm screwed, because to get a job, you need a car to get you there and back.

Sporadic work here, anyone that works fulltime, just can't play MMORPG's and, if they say they do, they're lying. It's either full-time job or, MMORPG's you can't have both.

Part-time how ever is a little different if you just have one part-time job then you'll have some MMORPG time but, not much.

Most people that play MMORPG's and, work full-time spend their money on cheating programs, leveling services and, gold buying, it's great to have alot of money but, not knowing what to do with it all is just sad.

Well, to be blunt, ill have to call BS on that. Ive been in full time work since i was 18, nearly 20 years now. Ive had hi-level chars in many of the big name MMO's (EQ1 and 2, DAoC etc) and ive never cheated, paid for levelling services or bought gold.

Balancing work and gaming depends entirely on the occupation you have. I was/am a graphic designer/artworker. Its one of those careers where when you leave work, thats it, you can shut off till the next day. Some careers dont have that luxury and would make playing an MMO very difficult.

But generalising that all FT workers who play MMO's cheat, well its just way off base.

Or worse... they become EVE players or just spam for the forums with endless whining about "the grind of current games".

Yay for making $7.25 taking out trash and painting buildings. At least you get $.30 more. Good thing that's only my summer job.
I get $5.50 during the school year doing data entry in my spare time.
It's enough to pay for dsl and vodka, I can't complain.
