Can someone explain the skills system better?  How do you move up?  What is required?

The skill system has a mathematical forumal that ties in with your attributes to dictate how fast (or slow) your learning will be.

Various attributes are linked to various skills (Perception to learning ships, Intelligence to learn learning skills, Memory to learning mining etc)

Skills can be done while online or offline.  For example, if it takes you 2 days, 13 hours, 19 minutes, you will learn that skill within that time whether you are offline or online.

Many skills have prerequisistes (sp) to other skills.  For example, you just cant buy a battleship and fly it.  You must learn Frigate 1,2,3,4 Cruiser 1,2,3,4 and then Battleship.

There are well over one hundred skills and they are broken down into groups such as this:

Mechanic skill: -->Hull upgrades, repair systems     Gunner skill --> small projectile, medium projectile, sharpshooter, rapid bursts  Navigation--> Afterburners, high speed manuerving  etc, etc, etc (liek I said well over 100 skills (possible around 200)

You also have a set of learning skills (empathy, ironwill, spatial awareness, and intuitve thought).  Learning these skills will give you added bonuses to your attributes, hence giving you faster results to learn skills.

Also, skills are also ranked by complexity.  Learning Mining (rank 1) from level 3 to level 4will take only 6 days and some hours.  Learning Cruiser (rank 5) from level 3 to level 4 will take 9 days.

You buy more skills at any station that has a school.  Skills can vary in price from 10,000 isk to 5 million isk.  Some skills you cant learn until you learn others first.

    Hope that helps

People who have to create conspiracy and hate threads to further a cause lacks in intellectual comprehension of diversity.
