"The progress report notably doesn’t include updates on playability"

My biggest concern, do all these systems work well together as a game?

Massive fan of the project but even I've had enough... they said this year they was going to focus on gameplay, stability and performance but they have just pushed out a patch that is completely broken and has crap performance and stability all because they want to sell a new ship! same old CIG I'm done.

Hey welcome to the club. I reached the same point years ago. I don't actively wish them to fail like a lot of folks, but I just have no expectations they will get this game across the finish line before they run out of player confidence and money.

CIG expects this. It's why they turn and churn the meat grinder that is their investments. They really believe it doesn't matter how many they lose, just how much new money they can bring in. Many defenders of this game and company have given up, not only in these forums but others, to be replaced with new money defenders. Best part is the new defenders continue to use the old arguments, which hit like an over cooked noodle anymore.

Year almost over so that's a wrap B)

Now seriously imagine complaining about having the most playable alpha in history of gaming. GTA fans in shambles sucking on that 1 trailer in 10 years :D

I think many of us moved on from this years ago.....10 years, 750+ million dollars and its still an alpha....give me a break

Chris Roberts is having too fun pretending to be Charles Foster Kane and building his very own Space Xanadu with other peoples money. Thanks I'll pass. And in fact I very much imagine I will pass of old age before a glimmer of a working and coherent game comes out of this mess.

If you are holding out for the perfect game, the only game you play will be the waiting one.

I downloaded the game to give it a try after 10+ years? lol and the game did this infinite loading screen thing and I was never able to get into the server. Uninstalled.. most funded game in history and its complete trash.

The issue here is not the playability of the game systems and features that are in.

It's the generally stability of the game on going through full loops, the likeness of running into issues while playing that will disrupt that proccess, that is more the main complaint.

The game mechanically is pretty good, it's not like it doesn't have things to do, with its MP aspects and PvP also spicing it all up, but without a decent degree of consistent stability the experience easily becomes outright frustrating.

I can see they are moving to prioritize that but there are some systems that are PROPER broke, like the infamous transit system (killer elevators and whatnot) that is being rewritten, there's some stuff there that ain't just "bug fixes", it's like a decade+ old code that no longer scales well/co-exists well with everything else. And like saying goes, it's akin to rebuilding pillars of a skyscrapper mid-construction.

I worked for a company once, a company that got a big check from one of  their distributors on a Friday.  Without it, the company would have gone bankrupt on Monday.  Three Days Tops!
They are still in business decades later.

Finally, the first steps towards game stability!
Every single patch they ever made always makes the "first steps" towards something that isn't there!
