I was looking forward to at least trying it. There are a few other Life Sim games in development but they are at least a year or two away.

Damn that was like a straight slammed door in the face of fans waiting for this lmao. I guess they just can't compete with sims.

Bummer. With a million and one "fantasy/medieval" games choking the genre, it would be nice to see something different for a change.

The industry just really needs a complete collapse to get rid of the bloat.

    This is a genuine shame.

The Sims is such a popular franchise for EA, but the core games are generally pretty shit. Barely any advancement in gameplay over the 4 main games, an inadequate amount of content in the base game. But, EA can just print money by releasing overpriced DLC over and over. The Sims 4 now costs nearly £900 if u want all content!

So, I was looking forwards to a genuine competitor. It really wouldn't be difficult to beat The Sims, and it looked like Life by You had already done that. Graphics, gameplay and toolkits already looked good to me.

The reasons for cancelling don't seem genuine to me. I'll be curious to hear more from the people who were actually working on the game and just got canned.

What's even more hillarious is that EA just sent a feedback email out asking users what they can do to make Sims 4 a better game. Honestly I think inZOI (which is upcoming this year) has all these sim developers a bit worried.

Krafton actually sent content creators high end laptops to test and help them develop this game.

I think their reasons are probably genuine: They are a profitable company, they were developing in their own studio, using their own money, and their own new IP.

Even if the gameplay looked good in videos, the game likely had some problems they just didn't show to us.

This is a good sign. They applied a "stop loss" rule. Which is a rational thing to do. Making this project wasnt a great idea but investing more resources in it and launch it to flop would be a clown world sympton.

Makes you wonder if EA had something to do with it. This was a Sims killer. My wife loves the Sims, but also hates the Sims lol. EA has dumbed it down big time and Sims fans have been itching for something like this to come along. EA sucks.

I see nothing to be afraid of. It's a GTA V roleplay server without guns. rofl
