Also, do a better job of proofreading:
"do really cool things like double the projectile chance or a chance to double the projectiles"
I'm so excited about either doubling the projectile chance or having a chance to double the projectiles! Maybe they could also add double projectiles but only a chance of that happening. Then other times you could get multiple projectiles but only two.
Hate to break it to you, but that wasn't proofreading issue. That was a quote and literally what the dev said. And it does make sense. Doubling the chance of projectiles happening is not the same as doubling the projectiles that happen. It was an example two different affixes you could get.
That's what I am wondering too. The updates to Helltides sound fun, but I am concerned they will quickly start to feel stale again.
Should have made that more clear in the article. I would put that on the author, not the developer who was interviewed to clarify since the author is not directly quoting the developer when that statement is made. Otherwise the text would have quotation marks around it. "double the projectile chance" and "chance to double the projectiles" ... both direct quotes from this article mean the same thing with a different order of the words. Just like "I painted the fence" and "The fence was panted by me" mean the exact same thing with a different word order. Maybe what was intended was that in one case the effect is to cut the re-fire rate in half and in the other two projectiles fire simultaneously. That would certainly qualify as two different affixes especially if they could be boosted to even higher numbers as one would end up being like a machine gun and the other a shotgun. None of that clarity was provided by the author who was, again, not directly quoting the developer but making his own statement. That's why I called it out.
"Hey, Hear me out on this! I have an idea! Why dont we add another layer of boring stuff to do so that even less players do it?".
"Amazing. DEI hiring was the best thing we ever done. Zewyuo?Theis? Xhes? Hiers? well whatever, you! you are promoted to lead designer from this very moment"
