Microsoft laid off over 1900 Blizzard employees this month, and one employee in particular decided now is the time to cash in on all that free World of Warcraft game-time they accumulated over the years.

    Cash value of that is what? $1800 USD give or take? Meh pretty weak as a severance. I know they got much more than that. Anyway, totally useless unless he plays the game and considering he just had all these codes laying around I'm guessing he's not exactly hardcore.

    I would prefer a product that will still be around for another 10 years.

    Is this the gaming industry equivalent of I am taking my stapler with me when I leave?

    If its a game I love, I would be very happy with multiple years of subscription costs covered.
