BG3 was incredible. I have been playing video games since pretty much there were video games and it is the best I have ever played. I just wish Wizards would get off their butts and capitalize on what all of this could be, but at least we got this.

As good as BG3 may have been, I still can't behind it being the "best game of 2023" since it actually released a few years ago.

I enjoyed reading that. I think when FFXVI releases on PC I'm going to play it.

It was in early access, so technically, it wasn't released.

I believe part of it released a few years ago and that part had changes on release.

I'm playing BG3 right now and it really is mindblowing. It's this generation's Dragon Age Origins while also being far better in every way.

Idk if it could dethrone Guild Wars 1 as my favorite game of all time. Because here's the thing ... Guild Wars did for combat what BG3 does for everything else - extreme player agency. And it did so with an elegance and convenience of game design that perfectly encouraged experimentation. But BG3 is definitely recapturing most of that magic, and it's doing so in another genre I also really love - turn-based tactics RPG. I reckon by the time I roll credits, BG3 will probably cement itself as a very close number 2.
