Maybe I needed to play longer than 100 hours but couldn't we have already eaten food? All food gives buffs of some kind so why was this update needed?

Starfield fans already eat. A lot. Why tf do you think Microsoft is releasing a Wonka chocolate Xbox?

Wow the ability to eat food you find, an ability nearly every other game ever has included since their start has been added to Starfail, what will they add next? Hopefully the ability to drink water..

You can already consume food and meds you find. This adds the ability to eat food directly from the UI, instead of having to pick it up, open up inventory, select the item, and then hit the action key to consume it. Players have asked for this to be added since it's already in Fallout.

I am confused as well. You could already pick up all the food in game and eat it. It was just pointless, as most of the food only added like something silly as healing you for 2 or 5 HP.

So I assume this feature in the patch, just means you can right click and eat food directly, instead of from your inventory?

This is so dumb. Modders added DLSS support almost immediately and adding the option to eat.... what the hell is wrong with this dev studio?

My sincere hope is that the only reason Starfield was treated like an afterthought in terms of really taking some risks is because hopefully the risk-taking was being saved for their baby; The Elder Scrolls 6.

    That's my hope anyway.

So glad I did not buy it at launch or I would not have been able to eat food from my inventory.

I am sure the dev team are working on more significant things than this, but I guess SF media buzz has to be fed (sorry guys) somehow. :)

    "ambulance occlusion"

Well that's certainly a new feature....;)

It amazes me what this crap company prioritizes. I guess they figured modders already fixed a lot of the broken stuff so why bother.

This is Bethesda in a nutshell.  Minimal effort patch support after launch and move on to next game.

Just drop the mod tools and let the modders handle everything post launch fixing all the problems.

Elder Scrolls 6 won't be any different. It will developed on the same age old craptastic Gamebryo engine, which has practically been out of support since 2012, when the original company closed down and fired all it's staff.
The Gambryo website is dead and not been updated for over a decade. It's property is at some holding company that hasn't done much with it anymore.

As long as Todd Howard stays at the helm, nothing will change.  Microsoft needs to kick him out and let some new fresh blood come into this Studio that can change the direction within the studio.

I mean, if it ain't broke....

Pretty much every game they release people complain about bugs and various issues it seems. But none of that complaining stops people from forking over truckloads of money or queuing up to buy "[Bethesda Game] Special Anniversary Centennial Edition"

As it's been said, just release the developers kit and let the modders do the work. We'll have all kinds of new games soon...

Suicide Squad is what happens when people collectively decide to hate something.

Starfield was a game people played, and many of them just found to be not very good.
