The boring weekends...haiyaaa!!!

HyperpsycrowHyperpsycrow Member RarePosts: 913
Lately my weekends has no meaning since most games are dead to me !

For now i log in to warframe and do the dayli mission them i log out again.
Then i play LOL 1-3 games a day. Browsing forums like reddit and here and watching animes kills some of the time.

But where is the golden coin hidden ?
Where are all the players today ?

What or where is the best game ?!

Maybe it's time to step away for a while...... enjoy the real world.  The brutal, stinking, God-Forsaken real world.

I still love MMOs. And T&L and Ashes will be my next stop. Even Riot Games next MMO and Soulframe or what ever their MMO is.

But I have been MMOing hard core for the better part of the past 20 years, I have missed some real gems of games. Bought me an Xbox and with Gamepass, been playing Elder Ring, Mass Effect Remastered, Arkham series and so many other AAA tiles, often included with Gamepass or at a discount.

Get a Series S and jump neck deep into many titles you may have missed. That's my two cents. FYI Series S is awesome for 1440p gaming. It's the best value in gaming.

There aren't any good new or hidden MMOs to recommend. All the ones that are out there you probably already know of, or they're crap, or they haven't been released.

If you don't have gamepass and haven't had it recently, then I think best option is to buy it for one month. You can go through the list and test as many interesting looking games as you want, and will hopefully find one that you like.

But unlike Nanfoodle I don't recommend buying XBox. If you have a gaming PC then just use it.

    Outside gamepass games I'd recommend:

Hogwarts Legacy: this released recently, have you already played it?

Subnautica: A single-player survival game where you explore alien ocean planet by diving. It's quite unique experience
      https://store.steampowered.com/app/264710/Subnautica/

Outcore: Desktop Adventure: Free game with no monetization. It has some unique gameplay and will probably be fun for about a day
       https://store.steampowered.com/app/1275670/Outcore_Desktop_Adventure/

What Remains of Edith Finch: It's a walking simulator, and only a couple of hours long, but during those couple of hours it was the best walking simulator I've seen. Its normal price is quite expensive for how short it is, but it's occasionally on sale at heavy discount
       https://store.steampowered.com/app/501300/What_Remains_of_Edith_Finch/

Rimworld: A colony management/survival sim with AI storyteller that makes the game's focus on more on encountering different situations rather than optimizing your base. If you like it it's a game you could easily play for hundreds of hours. It's never on good sales so if you want it you just have to pay full price

Well, except for Uncharted Waters Origin which is launching Mar 7th of course, could be good for a lark.

To put that into perspective, there are deals right now, you can get a Series S for $150 bucks and then $15 bucks to get Gamepass and you will have access to about 500 games included with Gamepass.

    What boring week-ends ?

    Games ?

New World, Valheim with friends on our private server, Kingdom of Atham, and I haven't even started to look into the new patch of Rising World.

    Other ?

New episodes of Star Trek: Picard, the Mandalorian...

    Real life ?

Nice weather here for the season, with very nice light, so running around with my camera a lot. And of course metal music, drinks at the pub with friends, all that makes life worth living.

There's no boring week-ends, only boring people ;)

A glimpse at real life graphics... no photoshop, just out of the camera, early morning.

Well, I suppose I would agree with this. I'm never bored.

But my mother was probably instrumental in that.

When I was very young I went to her one Saturday and said "I'm bored."
"Find something to do or I'll give you something to do."
    "But there's nothing to dooooo!"
"I said, find something to do or I'll give you something to do.
    "But there's nothiiiiiing!"

What followed was the most brutal day of chores my young life ever experienced. Keep in mind, I had actual chores which entailed actual work that did not entail keeping my room clean. That was a given.

I raked, weeded, washed the kitchen, dusted ... I did everything and anything she thought I could do.

After that day, I was never bored again.

A real fable for our time.  o:)

If you think free time is so boring, you could add a part-time job and work on the weekends.  You might still be bored, but at least you'd also be productive.

First of all im 43 and dont have any friends. They all had kids and wifu and moved away from gaming. So here i am married to my pc and the games that stinks atm. Im no outdoor person and do work 4 days a week. Tahst 30 H a week or so. Enough for me to have weekends to play games in.

I have been reading all ur post and looking on these games you link, but i cant get in to these kind of games that looks like Amiga/commadore games. No offence tho.

I looked on cdkey sites and see harry potter is the top 10 games to buy. But i was never fan of harry potter.

There just isent any of these games that speak to me. Its very depressing...

Now im going back to bed so it can be monday fast again....huurh

I can understand being bored if you're in a room, alone, and can't leave.  And there's no electronic devices, no books, and really nothing to do there.  Or maybe if you do have those things but can't use them.  I sometimes get bored during power outages.

But if you've got a nice desktop, good Internet access, and enough spending money to buy games or books or subscribe to various video services?  At that point, your entertainment options are far beyond what people expected to ever be possible back when you were a young child, let alone a few centuries ago.  If you've got all those options and are still bored, then the problem is you.

You might have a point but i hoped someone in here could cast some light and show the hidden shiny turd among games. I know people in urganda has less than me but here we are an di have adapted to the situation where stuff isent funny anymore cuz we have to much of it.

I watch several series and movies to that point where they all look the same. I can go out for a walk but have no interrest.

    Can you halp me ?

If you want a genuinely good game that is so obscure that you've almost certainly never heard of it, then here you go:

    https://store.steampowered.com/app/1895860/Monster_Girls_and_the_Mysterious_Adventure_2/

It's made by one person, and as best as I can tell, he doesn't speak English.

Here are a couple of other games that I've really enjoyed, but are well-known enough that you've likely heard of them:

    https://store.steampowered.com/app/780290/Gloomhaven/
    https://store.steampowered.com/app/220200/Kerbal_Space_Program/

And this won't help you today, but the upcoming MMORPG release that I think is the most interesting that I've seen in the last several years launches next Tuesday:

    https://store.steampowered.com/app/1574360/Uncharted_Waters_Origin/

Though it's also quite possible that what you really want is not to play a computer game at all, but instead, to go do something else with your time.

Games all "die a thousand deaths."
Because after you run through them, then it's rinse and repeat.
They resurrect every so often if new content is added, and then get eaten up again.

Furthermore, they are so much like other games that it's hard to not feel like you've "been here, done that."

At best, you can run into a something that's a little different, maybe an entirely new take on what's already been done. Then you might feel a momentary newness. But it quickly dissipates.

I heard of this new idea called "Worldly", where the landscape mostly stays the same but what's in it can change. Including constructions. And all in a realistic seeming way. Like a "living, breathing world."

    Wouldn't that be something?
I wonder if anyone around here has heard of that?

There's an UBI SOFT sale on Steam right now.
    Many very good games.
Assassin's Creed Valhalla for 19€ for instance.
I had a lot of fun with Assassin's Creed: Black Flag some time ago, a very good pirate game.
