I lost all interest when I read about the expensive pay to win version of EFT that gives you a protected loot container in the original. Now 3 years later I challenge anyone to watch any of the streamers that still play. They look miserable. They are slaves to thousands of AFK twitch "viewers" that are forced to leave a browser tab running to gain an advantage every wipe with drops.
Awful predatory P2W game company.
You get a secure container with the standard edition of the game, it is 1x1 square less than the most expensive version. There is a quest in the game to get a bigger version than you can get in the expensive version, as well as multiple cases with different sizes like 4x2 that you can get through quests. Also this container other than holding keys which the standard version does, doesn't really help. As no real large items can fit, nothing you put in there from raid and die with it in there gets counted as found in raid so you cannot sell it to other players or use it for quest items. Most people I know just use it for water / holding keys to unlock doors (which the standard container can still do).
In no way is it pay to win at least as of right now, it's just pay for convenience because it does feel annoying to have a smaller stash, but you can do literally whatever the most expensive version does, just with a smaller stash so less hoarding of items (which you can circumvent by getting containers for your stash.
On topic of the thread, this patch is cool but they broke some interesting things. Scav AI aim is insane right now. You get blasted through things, scav snipers follow you through buildings now and continue to shoot after when usually it used to lose agro. The new map has massive optimization issues like usual when they put out new maps.
You're defending a game where 75% of the viewers on twitch are afk watching for mandatory drops to keep up or again they are put at a disadvantage much like the pay to win unlootable inventory slots.
You are talking about a developer making a "standalone" game where you need to transfer money out of their old pay to win game to not play the new game at a disadvantage.
All this company knows is pay to win and grind to win.
