A growing concern in the EVE Online community has been whether or not CCP Games would be embracing NFTs and blockchain technology as EVE heads into its third decade in operation. CCP's Hilmar Petursson released a statement, assuring fans that NFT's won't be heading to the game anytime soon.

    I thought Killmails might have been a reasonable, non-intrusive use case, but then I'm not sure them being an NFT really added much value.

    Still, for those currently playing, it's good to have a clear statement on the direction they are heading with all this. I know they can change their minds, but as the article says: "It's probably CCP Games' strongest statement on blockchain and NFTs to date"

    Not for Tranquility, clever, but perhaps on another universe, say like Serenity the Chinese only server one day perhaps?

    It's because they know the savageness we eve players go at it for just isk and mails.

    Imagine if you told a bunch of sociopaths roaming in space that now not only is their stuff actually valuable and not "Black market" valuable...Oh man...oh man.


    We'd destroy the game in like six days. If that.
