Perhaps don't write articles about political situations people can disagree with.

Maybe some of the people were out of line, but the writers invite this if they write about companies joining a "Russian Blockade" which obviously is steeped in politics.

The hardest thing about free speech is applying it during hard times. Don't forget that.

    Um.

Fully agreed that fleeing reality is a factor in games and thats a good thing.

But actually they do of course sometimes insert politics in games. For example the Baldurs Gate EEs, they just had to insert their woke propaganda into it.

Now that was already bad enough, but then the developers also publically complained that the original game wouldnt be woke. Yikes. Being woke wasnt even a thing back then.

No matter the ideology, I dont want to be preached at. I wouldnt even want my own ideology be preached at me.

And I think thats pretty universal. Its called "go woke, go broke" for a reason.

Thankfully you can still get the original version of Baldurs Gate, without the EE.
