Each week, we scour the internet for all things indie MMO-related so you don't have to. After a rather quiet episode last week, developers are back at it this week. Although some developers announced test delays, many studios pushed out patches filled with new content and updates. We even have a new addition to the IMS, though some of you won't be too excited to hear it includes NFTs. In any event, there's a lot to cover, so let's quit wasting time and get started with this week's Indie MMO Spot

It would be a cool feature if there was a link to each game somewhere in the writeup, possibly even in the title of the game.

Agree, to easy to make the titles hyperlinks to the official game site.

Would you want the official sites or something else? Many of these games have minimal content on their official site, using Discord, Twitter, or their Steam page as their main avenue of communication.

I'm actually happy to see a game like project gorgon still around. That game has hung in there longer than most. Good on them to keep with it! I'll have to check it out again to see what has been done since I last played... Its been years now.

You might want to check out Haven & Hearth. It's an indie MMO. Runescape meets Valheim, meets Stardew Valley. Has interesting Exp system. Lots of possible crafting options. Everything is created by players. I'd say that combat system is not its strenght.
Do you want to build a village with your friends and go whale hunting in the ocean? You can.
It has not too big fanbase, but I think that it's interesting enough to check out.

How does Untamed Isles not break steam TOS. They are not allowing NFT games?

Seems there are quite a few NFT games on steam still.

I think the site would be the most generally useful, as each game's site likely will link their Discords for the users.

If they're interested enough to join the server, it would be intuitive to follow the link to the game's official site, where they know the official Discord will be linked.

The article is a little misleading on Untamed isles. The game can be played completely without touching the crypto features, and played in full. No Subscription, no pay walls and no need to own any sort of NFT. The crypto element is you are able to take the items and tames you earn/breed in game and can sell them on a custom market place (they are turned into NFT's for this process and can then be brought back into the game). There is also a normal in game market place and the trade of in game currency is controlled through one use items found in game.

Devs only sell cosmetics, all other trading is player to player, and they have two full time economists on the team as any game like this will need a strong and stable economy.

... couldn't that, perhaps, be a standard market place for creature trading....? Why do they need to have an NFT version? To begin with, that data only works with said game. Usually, devs have their own currency to be exchanged in their own form of RMT. However, the point here is that it still is an NFT game, just a bit different. Would be even worse if there was some form of "tax" where they take 1% of every NFT transaction.

NFTs have no actual legitimate terms or services, anyone can make any rule, such as this one.
[The purchaser will not, by purchasing the NFT, obtain intellectual property rights (e.g. copyrights, trademark rights) in relation to the data linked to the NFT. ]
[K_____ will only be responsible for granting the use of the NFT and purchaser benefits for the NFT and will not provide any guarantee for the NFT itself (e.g. continuity, compatibility with other services).]
