[EU] [NA] Vengeance Of The Fallen - VoTF

AneuAneu Member UncommonPosts: 21

Vengeance of the Fallen was originally conceived in NeverWinter Nights in 2003. Our main goal was keeping the Guild at the top of its game while maintaining numbers to compete with anyone who may want to challenge us and still maintain its “family” approach as a community. To this day that goal has not changed, certain things may need to be adjusted or extended but above all else we are an online family that go through it all together - Sadly a concept that seems to have been lost over quite a few years.

Through many games we have worked together showing how versatile and dedicated we are – Fighting some great opponents, making enemies and above all else having fun. Unlike many guilds we promote conflicts with other guilds; we enjoy the thrill it gives when you are fighting against an adversary you know is skilled and nothing feels better than wiping the floor with them. In unison with promoting conflicts we also achieve many long lasting friendships with various guilds throughout our gaming history and we look forward to creating more of both.

From our time in Eve online to the more recent games we have had to adapt the way we approach a game and that will not change for Guild Wars 2.

Our entire focus in Guild Wars 2 will be based around sieges and the mists, maintaining a core siege team that is both capable and determined while also incorporating some great sPvP teams that are at the top of their game and also giving a home to people who do not have the same amount of time to play as others but as still capable gamers.

We have stepped away from the whole “elitist” tag since it can be taken various ways and most of them are very non-descriptive of what “elitist” is but suffice to say we are proficient with everything we set our minds to, we achieve the goals we set and burn everything in our path. We know that fights are not only won in the battlegrounds - But in fact in all instances of PvP, be it politics, sieges or ranking, we strive to be the first in all of them. Which normally leads to allot of whine post on the forums, but we take that as the fruit of our hard work.

It has been far too long since we were able to play a game that allowed us to fully flex our OWPvP muscles and GW2 will be the game that will allow us to show exactly what it means to be called a Siege Guild. Many guilds say they have experience here or there, many will try to make you believe that they know what they are doing but not many guilds have controlled entire servers, organised multiple legions and sent enemy forces that were better equipped fleeing. What ever server we decide to join will count themselves lucky for having us and those who face us will know exactly what it means to fight a true siege guild.

Within VoTF we have many different cultures and people with different backgrounds but the thing that unites us all is our sense of humour and ability to have fun. We do not have any code of conduct when it comes to talking/socializing with our guild-members or other players. Which means we can be quite harsh against each other, but we are never harsh for the sake of just being harsh. We are all adults so being killed while afk by a 15 year old will result in a F-bomb preferably both in the guild chat and the most crowded channel on mumble. We take words lightly and the meaning seriously, because we all realize that we are on the internet.

We are tired of "The world of sissies and drama queens" that mmos seem to have been changed in to. When you are in VoTF you are expected to be an adult, if you have a problem with another member then you are expected to deal with this as an adult would. If you complain to an officer you will generally be told to speak with the person you have a problem with. We are all grown-ups so there is no point trying to run to mother. Officers only get involved if anything escalates - We are not there to hold hands.

This is one of the defining things of VoTF. None of our members are alone; we work as a single unit all attempting to reach the goal that is set. We all help each other and we all help the guild. Selfishness is neither welcome nor wanted. We treat our team-play as a big party. We all meet up drunk and happy, we have a good night together, there might have been some yelling and a little fight needing to be taken outside, but we always look forward to drinking together the next day - Obviously without inviting the people that always crash in the bathroom or throw up on people nearby.

With the competitiveness that is present in GW2 we expect to take team play to the next level including both practice sessions and tactical presentations (visual) that all members are expected to understand and know when we enter into either large or small scale PvP. While we have a friendly community we are still a competitive guild that expects a certain standard from each of its members be that the more hard-core or casual player.

Active participation on our forums and TS3 server is a must. We don't expect you to be a forum "lady of the
night" but interaction is a required part of VoTF as well as a mic for TS3. Getting to know people, knowing who is talking just by their voice is what we expect from our members, familiarity and the ability to adapt to different situations requires communication and this is something we make sure our members can do. Being on TS3 even if you are not in game is also a required part of being VoTF - Yes! when you log off to play sexy beach 00, you stay on Mumble so we can contact you. We also use IRC to extend our reach. It is not required to idle, but saying hello to the lonely people on there once in a while doesn't hurt them and helps us prevent the growing amount of suicides between the old-school IRC users.

We are quite specific about what we require within VoTF but the requirements are very broad. If you are someone who has read the above and has thought we are what you are looking for then head over to our forum and start participating. We are all very different players some of us may focus 100% on PvP while others grind PvE in order to get better gear, some might farm tons of gold while others will be standing around the merchant quarter just to annoy other players with their Roleplay (That's a joke, no RP!). Yes we are quite diverse, so obviously we have something to make us tick: Everytime you come online you know that friends are waiting for you, and staying online because you are waiting for friends to logon. We all see each other as friends inside the guild, or we might aswell not play together.

If you have any questions then come to our IRC channel #VoTF on Quakenet or email myself at [email protected] or [email protected]. Our website is at VoTF - Vengeance Of The Fallen - On-line Gaming Community chat to us more there!

Eve was where we grounded ourselves in the MMO market. Our roots were firm and our teeth sharp, being a leading part of one of the most notorious eve alliances to date during the "true eve" time line and owning vast swathes of space with our superior tactics and teamwork put us as the fore front of the game. After achieving everything we felt we could it was time to move on to bigger things.

Aion cemented our foundations as a serious contender in every aspect of combat in MMOs. Going up against some of the most fierce and organised opposition known to any server in Aion we showed time and again that we can and will smack you down. Our premades were second to none and known as some of the best and our World PvP prowess could not be surpassed in terms of effort and outcomes. Lacking support for Aion eventually lead to a dwindling player base and an eventual dispersement of players from the server.

RIFT was at first going to be another MMO where we could prove not only to everyone else but to ourselves that we can take up any form of combat challenge and run with it, what should have been a great competitive time for us turned into nothing more than a battle with developers to get some semblance of balance for classes. Sadly the developers won the battle (through lack of action) and so we moved on.

Another MMO in the time of derision and stagnancy. MMO's were letting players down more than a drunk hooker and this MMO while managed to sate the thirst for some PvP we simply could not get our moneys worth out of it. Continual dominance of the battlegrounds, the slaughtering of overwhelming numbers in OWPvP came to a halt when it was made apparent that the developers simply could not understand nor sustain the game that most PvPers wanted. Attempting to make the developers understand the mistakes they were making before they put patches out was futile, alas another MMO in the "wilderness years".

The game of endless possibility and potential. TERA's combat system was next impressive beyond words. TERA should have been what all PvP players wanted in an MMO but what many didn't see was the conflicting cogs inside that oh so gorgeously shining machine. We came to see that it needed a lot of work. Even with all the conflicts we proceeded to fight where we could and found the competition to be somewhat lacking, whether through inexperience or our excellence we continued to dominate equal numbers and even higher numbers (until it became silly). The support and production from Frogster(Now Gameforge) was absolutely appalling and so we decided it was time to call it - as we have shown in other games, we do not reward incompetence with our money.

The hidden jewel? For all of Funcoms past mistakes The Secret World is a great MMO with a depth that very few games reach (note: Games not MMOs - It does go that deep). Questing beyond perfect, the immersion simply grips you and doesn't let go of you ever. Funcom really went the full hog with this game and we are more than happy to support them with it - even if it is casually. Dear Funcom, here is my money for your great game.

If TSW is the jewel then this is the crown that jewel can proudly sit in. Guild Wars 2 is a competitive game that we have been searching for all of these years, through the years of stagnation and upset, derision and jadedness - The one shining light that was on the very near horizon. With its complexity and scope we look forward to flexing our wPvP muscles and showing people exactly what it is to be a siege guild while letting our sPvP teams rampage through all competitors.

The ultimate goal - The future of VoTF. ArcheAge is a game that I think everyone will want to play simply due to its openness. Being one of very few western guilds that have been given keys to play the Korean Beta we are more than happy to assist XLGames with the continued improvements of their game and we look forward to the day that it is released on our shores and we will be more than prepared for what is to come. Will you?
