Back when The Elder Scrolls Online was announced, Bradford was stoked to finally be able to explore Tamriel with friends. As one of the formative RPGs in his life, seeing it get a multiplayer version was pretty exciting, even if it stumbled out of the gate. With so many great single player RPGs to launch in the years since, is there one where you, the reader, would love to see get the same treatment?

I'd like to see Morrowind or Skyrim done as an MMO. ESO has the landscape, but the playstyle isn't from those games. I'd like to see a skill-based approach like Morrowind, where you level up skills by using them, and you have all the skills available to you.

ESO is like an arcade version, where you get a small handful of skills, and every class plays almost the same.

Drop the weapon swapping, and go back to a full selection of skills that you choose. Like a real MMO.

Kingdom of Amalar which was slated to be an MMO (Coppernicus) KOA also has  its expansion (Fatesworn) dropping on 12/14 for anyone interested...

This , ironically everytime I fire up ESO it just makes me want to play Skyrim , which is a better Elder Scrolls experience in every way imo...

This is a tricky one, you really need a great IP to sustain interest, if NW was an Elder Scrolls game would it have retained more player base? I think so.

From the world of SF it has to be Dune, Ok we only seem to get RTS but that setting is crying out for a MMORPG.

From the world of Fantasy and here I will stick to something that's a video game I would go for The Witcher. Massive solo player, great TV series, great setting but there are problems like the books being alright but not great.

I can't think of any single player RPG IPs I hate enough to wish an MMORPG on, to be honest. :D

Assassin's Creed (sort of). The world building in AC honestly feels like it's built for an MMO. The maps are expansive and feel alive. The combat not so much, would need an overhaul. Throw in territory control and some sieges and it would be *chefs kiss*

Shadowrun (Not the Microsoft one, the original one, or even expand the Hairbrained Schemes game into fully fledged MMO)

I play most MMO's as single player games these days so not really any I can think of other than maybe an MMO set in the Starcraft universe but Blizzard abandoned that one early on.

    Same here.

But, you know, "I get it."

Elder Scrolls Online is cast in the "mmorpg" mold where players run and get quests, do them and turn them in. It has them voice acted and it is a bit better in that some of the npc's actually do things instead of just stand there as pez machines, but it's still like a themepark mmorpg.

The difference being that players can explore for their quest areas. I do like how their crafting system works where styles like "Imperial" or "nordic" or "Elven" are just that. Styles. and that the materials you put in make them better or worse.

I'd love to see that brought over into the next Elder Scrolls game.

I think a 2nd age Lord of the Rings game where there were more baddies and even a lot more politics within races where you could betray or even flat out PvP your own race based on who's house you were affiliated with.

    Tales of
Mass Effect would be an easy transition in the mold of SWTOR.

The IP lends itself even better than Star Wars in terms of not having a "one hero of the universe" scheme.

Even Sheppard wasn't in some way superhuman compared to his squad mates.  Just their commander.
