Have you ever compiled a list of MMORPGs you have ever played?

I just did :) Tried to exclude such titles like World of Tanks, Battlefront or Battlfields, as maybe they have elements of RPG, but I do not count them as MMORPGs. For such reason had problem with EVE, but included it. 

Hmm, should I list MUDs as well? :)

As "played" I assume at least several dozen hours invested, some characters in mid levels, not necessarily reaching the endgame.

    So many and so many that don't even exist anymore. Going down the list that is on this site these are the games that I've played that are listed.

    Some don't even exist anymore though I did put down warhammer online. I tried both the original final fantasy 14 and the new one. I tried that asian game that was mostly about boobs butts and knees.

    Another one where they were supposed to have a pvp tournement and the winner got 1 million dollars. Don't think that actually happened.

    Until 2016, I have at least tried every single "MMORPG" available in the west, and a dozen which were only available in Russia/Korea at the time.

    I haven't ever compiled a list myself, but i know mine would be a lot shorter. I've only ever played 3 MMOs long term - SWG, LotRO and WAR. If you consider SWTOR to be an MMO (i dont), then bump that number to 4. I have played an awful lot of betas and free trials, but as i didn't continue with them i wouldn't include them in my list.


    I can see a lot of non-MMOs in your list and that always makes me curious! What is your line-in-the-sand for when a normal multiplayer game crosses over into massively multiplayer numbers?

    For example, you included Diablo 3 which is only 4 player iirc, and GTAO which is 32 player iirc. Does this mean that you could consider something like Mario Kart to be massively multiplayer?

    Not that many, really. EQ, CoH/X, WoW, Guild Wars 1 & 2, Wizard101 are all that I've spent any significant amount time in.

    I've tried many others, yet spent minimal time playing. I wouldn't count those.

    I think I went through the list here on this site once, long ago. I may have even listed most of them on my profile, again years ago.

    I have never found another "home" like I did in EQ, WoW, or City of Heroes/Villains. GW 1 & 2 and Wizard101 have been mainly "solo" adventures for me.

    Personally the only modern MMORPG trend that annoys me is the idea that MMOs need to be designed in a way to attract people who don't actually like MMOs. Which to me makes about as much sense as someone trying to figure out a way to get vegetarians to eat at their steakhouse.

    I have played almost every PvE one. I have avoided the pure PvP ones. The mixed ones like Archeage or Black Desert I have played those too.

    My list would be really long. When you also count mobile mmos I've jumped into even for a week or so, I can't imagine how big of a list it would be. I've played too many, and only stuck with maybe around 5 for any length of time. And at least three of those have shut down.. now emulated.
