I understand Jason Stratham is available. :)
Please god, no more Jason Statham movies.
If he carries on for another twenty years he will become the UK's answer to Steven Seagal. Steven's films are on a channel here somewhere every night, we need a British actor who can live up to that prestigious output.  :)

    Micheal Caine isn't available?

    What ?
What parameters, never talked anything about that. Your almost talking like I was trying to invent a game or something.

I was talking "how I judge a game", it's also an OPINION that no one has to agree with.

    OPENION!!

3 times I mentioned "stay below level 10"... where if ANYONE should reason out their are more levels, but I'm talking about the first 10. Did you even read the post directly above the one your <quoting>.

ANOTHER ONE THAT DID NOT READ THE POST AT ALL !

A word of advice to everyone that gets everything entirely wrong....
Get off your smart phone while driving..... Because everyone is just reading the head lines and running with it.

This site has really gone down the tubes and the major posters that post daily are the worst contributors..... I can count maybe 5 level headed posters total.

"Band me" if you want too, theirs not too much of this site to even care anymore.

I know it is a natural human response to get defensive when someone disagrees with you or criticises you, but you really gotta take a step back man.

    You can't spell
    You can't form proper sentences
You can't articulate your arguements properly

Most importantly, you don't seem to understand your own arguments, resulting in you contradicting yourself on a regular basis.

So, its not that people just read the headline and skipped your post or any of the other garbage you just wrote. It's that your posts are incomprehensible and require a lot of clarifications, clarifications which you are usually unwilling to give. This then leads to confusion, arguements and all the rest - all good stuff for a forum and it keeps us entertained, but probably not what you were aiming for.

What it all seems to boil down to is:

    1) You want to play a good MMORPG
    2) You don't think any of the current MMORPGs are any good
    3) You loved vanilla WoW
    4) You're annoyed that no-one else seems to have been able to create a good MMORPG

Those are all valid opinions, probably shared by a fair few people, but not particular useful when it comes to discussing how to make a good game.

Case in point, this thread: "7 days to level 10" which, when we tried to clarify with you, basically boiled down to "I want a good game". /facepalm

I tried to make a harmless post how I judge a healthy mmoprg, in my opinion.
Not hurting anyone, but we talked about everything but that.

It was only a competition for who is right and who is wrong for you, which is how I interpret many of your threads and why I don't often comment in them. It was a discussion for me. So, please dispense with the fake victim card.

    ===========================
Did all 3 examples go over your head or did you chose to ignore this ?
Did you and MOST OTHERS chose to only read the headlines, and run with it ?
Are you pretending to not understand, to poke fun ?
    - Don't care, but feel compelled to post.
I've seen this many times with conceded co-workers.
And all the rest of your boredom crap.
Did you even read the post directly above the one your <quoting>.
A word of advice to everyone that gets everything entirely wrong....
This site has really gone down the tubes and the major posters that post daily are the worst contributors.....
But most of the community here is going into the shitter.
This on why I don't buy your "not hurting anyone" line and why I believe people end up attacking you. People thoughtfully and politely responded to you and you shat on them.

    On the subject:

    1) 7 days for level 10 makes no sense for reasons others said before me: you need to say which max level, how many hours per day etc etc. If you want to say "take it slow, live the game, enjoy the journey not the destination", you can just say that, like Theocritus did in just 2 lines. This does not get tested with a vague test such as "7 days to level 10".

    2) Taking it slow or not treating the game as busywork or a race is not the only way to live and enjoy the game world either. Both playstyles are valid. EVE for example, people race for power and money, it often is busywork, there are no levels and you have diplomats, explorers who help others (Signal Cartel), dictators, moguls, pirates, all making strong in-game friendships and all literally living the game, and the game writing history every few months with something that the players did in it.

In a nut shell, this is my test to gage a hearty healthy mmorpg,
If I could manage to stay level ten or below for a week.  Making friends along the way, testing and getting to know my abilities inside and out. A good solid game where others are doing the same...... Even using 3rd party web sites to enhance the 1-10 experience, to make sure I miss nothing about my class. I want this 1-10 level area to be dangerous, where I had to be careful of my actions.  Maybe, just maybe finding the closes city to see what it has to offer.... then make more friends there.

Another test or gage a healthy mmorpg FOR ME would be,
If I were a writer, I could develop a short story of my adventures, using only 1-10... My own un-scripted story.  Something where I can secretly daydream about what I'll do when I get home..... Games like ESO or FF14, your story would be like everyone else, and almost impossible to stay below level 10.

I was about to list true mmorpgs, but decided to say first and second generation games only fill this qualification.

People are so critical of hitting max level they don't even care or even realize, mmoprgs are liner and extremely fast with 30 days of content.

I'm sure I'm alone in my beliefs.... I don't care, I have my convictions.

Go on..... let me have it, put me in my place..... and most of all check my spelling.

Play City of Heroes and turn off your experience gain at level 10 and you can remain there forever. Clearly it is the heartiest, healthiest MMORPG ever. There is actually a practical use for this. There is so much content you can easily level past connected story missions, and then be prevented by the game from finishing them. Being able to turn off XP allows the player to choose when he levels out of an area, allowing those stories to be played to completion so the associated reward can be earned.

You can also write your own stories, and then actually make them playable in game for yourself and others via Architect Entertainment. Players can level their character entirely through player made missions if they like. It is also quite a boon for role-playing super groups, as they can make customized missions based around their members and the stories they want to tell.

Caine is simply not in the action mould enough, and someone younger than their late 80's would be preferable. :)

People have given their ideas, but the thread has been rather derailed I must admit. I see those other 'topics' as a bonus of MMORPG.com, though it is rather against the rules. :)

Delete I've clicked on this thread several times now. This is probably the 4th or 5th time. This time, something dawned on me as I read the first line, and had to do with the the descriptive word heart.

It reminded me of an old gamers blog about mudflation from years ago. Alas, if I try to explain I'll probably mess it up, here's the link:

The mudflation is an antibody to this model. It’s an attempt to keep everything together. The erosion of content is needed to sustain the expansion. An expansion that isn’t mirrored by the expansion of a server('s population). The players become just drifting ships on this stain. The more the time passes the more the ships will crowd the borders of the stain (the end-levels). As new content is released the stain will expand again and the ships blocked on the border will drift once again till the new border. This while the center is exsiccating. Noone looks the center anymore. Even if the center is the game. The center is the heart and, still, it’s ignored because all the ships are on the border, not anymore in the center.

Soon this heart will die but noone can see this because there are still the boys surfing on the borders. Where the game seems still full of life. The mudflation is a desperate attempt to counterattack this unexcused expansion process. To keep its heart alive this growing stain tries to cut away what it can. The less important parts are abandoned so that the life sources can still be focused elsewhere and sustain the unending, pointless and foolish enlargement.

This written in 2005 about WoW, well before most of us became aware of mudflation in mmorpgs.

It'll work with mini dings and ranks due to kids these days not having enough attention.

This isn't a signature, you just think it is.

Delete it sounds like you enjoy the journey more than the destination....Theres quite a few around here that agree with that...not all are end game sprinters.....

I like the journey, but sometimes it's simply pointless(classes are half baked, some abilities are locked etc) until a completely random point(often around 66% of leveling).

Edit: Sorry delete, but I simply prefer more to the point opening. I prefer action to what you are describing. Sue me. :p

Edit 2: Are you factually ok?

Cancer is not coming back and over a year, so that's great, but another mri at the end of  the month will tell more.  Seizure meds are kicking my ass real bad.  In the process of changing to a different kind.... Very very hard to handle them, dizzy all the time.

If the next mri and the new meds work out, I'll be on top of the world :)

Yes, they are also probably making you too sensitive to random nonsense. I understand, pain wants to do that.

    Be well.

I'm very glad to hear the cancer has been overcome. Hopefully you will have an equally happy outcome with one of the medications for your seizures. I know side effects can be a bother until they happen on the one best suited to you.

Good luck to you in your upcoming MRI.
