In a update on Lodestone today, Square Enix announced that they would be cancelling the attendance of staff going to the Penny Arcade Expo in Boston next week due to fears over the coronavirus.

    We're talking about Boston here, not China. This is weird. They probably have more concern in their own region than in Boston.

    They are restricting travel overall. In Italy some person without any symptoms has spread the virus in Milan. So you never know who you might come into contact with while travelling.

    As stated in the article, they(square enix) are worried that they might be the ones spreading the virus overseas, not the other way around. As the disease is extremely infectious, a week from now could be a very different situation. Look what happened to south korea in just a couple of days...

    Tell that to the people that died on a cruise ship in Japan.

    "This is a cruise ship, not China"

    Places that attract people from all over the world and jam pack them in tight space is going to have problems with highly contagious diseases.

    I have no idea why this extremely simple concept is so hard for some to comprehend.

    There was one person who came back from china who then went to get checked and was discovered to have it. They are monitoring his friends/colleagues but so far that's it.

    The situation in Italy has really escalated and now they have quarantined several villages. Army has been deployed and people are quite concerned as 2 fatalities have been reported and 47 cases from the earlier case has been confirmed as infected including doctors and medical staff.
