I think the problem is it's really hard to break into the card game market, especially with the giant that is Hearthstone and Magic getting a real platform recently. Gwent also has gone down recently, at least on console if I remember correctly.
Sad cause this is a really great game. At least it's not getting shut down, they are just not gonna release new expansions. Maybe if enough people show support they'll hop back on it.
On the positive side: this could mean they are just pulling devs off to work on other projects like Starfield and TES VI
" Merry Christmas, I hope you get fired! You made a game I enjoyed and stopped supporting it, so you're dead to me." How do some people survive elementary school?
I want a mmorpg where people have gone through misery, have gone through school stuff and actually have had sex even. -sagil
It was the last expac. Oblivion gate was a bad design choice IMO. They would've been better off I think just adding different cards using the already existing mechanics. Sparkypants has improved the game though significantly since they took it over.
This game is still my favorite online card game cause it has almost the perfect amount of RNG and deck building freedom. Big enough deck size to create multicolor themed decks without feeling like you weren't able to add all the cards you wanted like Hearthstone.
The people who left this for MTG Arena should recognize the fickle nature/history of Wizards of the coast and how they could abandon that game on a whim and not give any shits. I already notice their client not being fixed when it stops working which makes me think they already have started to forget about it.
Companies have got to stop trying to enter saturated markets unless they have a solid, long-term gameplan. Even if they can afford to, due to low costs, they lose a lot of goodwill from their inevitable shut-down.

So they could squeeze enough MTX from the western version.
I think that line translated into "We're stopping development until we see that chinese money."
