A 12-core processor for an "overkill" build? Come on. Nothing says ridiculous overkill quite like a 32-core processor with turbo up to 4.5 GHz paired with 256 GB of memory.

And the memory even has some RGB junk.

Of course, if you're trying to actually build it and can't get sponsors to buy all the parts for you, then that's a very good reason to avoid spending four figures on a single component.

MY PC is always a beast but I hate RGB, get a lava lamp if you are obsessed with pretty colours. :)

RBG always seems super cringe to me. Like when people have ground effects on their honda civic.

Intel once overclocked a 28-core CPU to 5 GHz for a demonstration.  They needed a water chiller for it, and wouldn't say how much power it used.  People estimate about 1000 W.  To overclock a 32-core CPU to 6 GHz, you'll at minimum need liquid nitrogen, and the power consumption would surely be far above 1000 W.  That's the sort of thing that could wreck power supplies or wall outlets, not just a CPU and motherboard.

Okay, okay - I hear you. RGB isn't for everyone. But cast your mind back to six or so years ago. You would buy things that were ONE COLOR. If you wanted to change things up, you either had to rebuy whatever you wanted to match or have that one peripheral that made your whole setup look clownshoes.

Come on now - if you're into lighting at all, how are options a bad thing?

Except for price. Yeah. That's kind of a bad thing.

We don't mind you do articles like this, cover all the tech there is, the site is far better for it. But if we think it is toffee we will say so. :)

Considering most people put their desktop under the desk so you have actual monitor spaceon the desktop I find RGB to be kind of a waste of money.
