CI turns off computers AMD donated for demo

KefoKefo Member EpicPosts: 4,229
Not really surprised as this is CI. Apparently all they had was 280 slots and then they shut down all the computers that had the demo playing.

Something must be broken to all hell so they gotta make sure only true shills get the chance to play so they can spread only good and positive things about the game.

If the thread is to be believed they did it during the live-streams so that it would look like they had more people in the audience

Strange. Because the live streams usually showed the stage, not the audience.  But hey - conspiracy theorists need their daily dosage too ;-)  Meanwhile - awesome player gathering! :-D

    Have fun

Live streams often try to make it look like there's a lot of audience. For example last year's Citizencon:

They also rely on the audience to provide applause and other noise.

If you watched this stream rarely did they ever show the audience, most of those shots were the Q&A after panels and most people had already left. @Erillion is quite right there.

The conference itself was designed to keep attendants spread, there were multiple stages simultaneously with presentations and other locations open not on stream. Pretty much the opposite if the objective was to keep people on the stage being streamed.

So they were too afraid to show the audience this year? Was the attendance that bad that they didn’t want to pan out for fear of showing half empty rooms?

All the citizencon tickets were sold. Unless someone had a master plan to buy all the tickets so nobody else could come, the attendance had to be around of what was expected.

That's the main stage at the main event, room is at capacity there, usually in such events the capacity of that main stage should be around the number of tickets sold for the event. Other pic of it

Even with a packed room the livestream hardly shown the audience, as the photos of it here shows

The Venue in question was the Manchester Central Convention Centre. I was in attendance, it was filled to capacity.

The didn't have the whole convention center, though. Just so that people wouldn't misunderstand.

Apologies you are correct. They were using the Charter Suite wing of the Centre proper. Which is still a sizeable amount of space.

Isn’t it still smaller than last years venue or am I remembering wrong?

Should be smaller from Austin on total space it had quite more event rooms (the maps of the conference rooms are found online), on terms of stage it was this https://pbs.twimg.com/media/DpLAnfJUwAAqAJt.jpg From the pics the stage this year as far the stage went seems around a similar capacity as last year, said to be around the 1k tickets sold.
