Few games over the last several years have arrived with as much anticipation as Call of Duty: Modern Warfare. A re-invention. Bringing a franchise back to its roots. What Call of Duty should have been all along. The nail in Battlefield’s coffin. These are big claims, but with a new engine, complete campaign with fan-favorite characters, and re-imagined multiplayer, could the hype be real?
This is our review of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare.

Vault-Tec analysts have concluded that the odds of worldwide nuclear armaggeddon this decade are 17,143,762... to 1.
The overall feel of the game still gives off a CoD vibe, but it has changes that really make Multiplayer a lot better than in the past. There is bullet travel time now as opposed to hitscan which you don't really feel unless you are on a bigger map, the weapon mounting is cool especially around corners, being able to half sprint or full sprint is nice, the 64 player maps feel like Battlefield 4 but faster paced which IMO is great, and the weapons actually feel balanced for once (but everyone still just uses the M4).
I like that they said they wouldn't charge for maps in this one also. I'm sure loot boxes will eventually show up but it's nice they aren't in yet.
Performance on me and other friends PC has been odd though. I can run the game max settings with Ray Tracing on at like 100 FPS but will crash randomly if I have any background programs on like discord. I got around this by changing the priority of the CPU (it defaults MW to high for some reason) but still occasionally crash. My friends have had similar experiences. Not sure if it's just a CPU heavy game or what (it's only using like 60% of my GPU) but it is a little annoying.
How are these rehashes still getting hyped every time?
Indeed.
