    Pantheon is supposed to be a new Vanguard.

    Vanguard already was supposed to be "[classic] MMO done right".

    Since Vanguard has failed for various reasons, Brad McQuaid wanted a new game that would try this again.

    Since he has no longer control over the IP of Vanguard, he had to create a whole new world with new races and classes.
