It is incredibly difficult to design some meaningfull leg content that would fit a space ship game - simply because it is not a leg game.
It is just huge resource waste....'

See the question. Fallen Earth will be shutting down their server(s) on the 2nd of October. There is talk of a relaunch/remaster later on but nothing tangible. Would be nice to do a story on it, perhaps reach out to one of the current developers etc. Massively already did a piece on it: https://massivelyop.com/2019/09/04/fallen-earth-is-going-offline-indefinitely-but-hope-remains-for-a-reboot/

What madness is this you suggest? Republishing press releases is what most game web sites are about these days,not so much on investigative reporting.

I was there during the original launch 10 years ago and did like it. Played it for a couple of months and was impressed with the crafting, somehow it never took off so development kind of halted. There are talks of a new version being considered/worked on, who knows?

It was basically a gem built on the engine they were trying to promote. It was really always about that engine. But it never turned out to be anything special.
For awhile it was a pretty special game though the hard core fans of it did some pretty cool stuff. The radio stations people started that would be in game themed were fairly cutting edge back then.
The crafting system was second to none for awhile might still be one of the best there. but like most the raw materials always seemed to be worth more than the finished items they made.
If they do rework it they have to definitely expand on the reputation system 6 sides is good but its too cookie cutter in how rep is gained and lost.
