USB version doesn't matter when operating in 24bit sound with 0 latency . If one is going to do audio reviews please include bit rate. Don't argue it, I've used these type controllers/ interfaces for 1.5 decades. Focusrite makes quality products for many decades. There is really no negative for Forusrite, they are leaders in interface design and quality. THis box reviewed , will be the last one you need for many years as a streamer.

Didn't these have insane clipping issues that required you to use a di box for any remotely hot signal?

I have been using the bigger 2i4 for close to 5 years and they are amazing value. I have duel active monitors hooked up as well as mic and headphones. Simply cannot get better value than focusrite gear.

I appreciate the catch on omission of the bitrate. You will find that updated above.

I do not disagree with the quality of Focusrite's products, especially this one. It truly is a solid piece of audio gear, but you may notice that in my comments about the USB connection that it was phrased as a curiosity more than a critique. It certainly is not a reason to hold off on buying one if a person was in the market for a USB audio interface.

Let me share why I picked this detail out:

Within any review, it is our responsibility to be both an advocate for the consumer and to present the product faithfully as it is. It is also important to point out things that may be significant to the end user. There is no documentation/notation from Focusrite to tell the consumer that this is a USB 2.0 device. Someone buying products like this may see USB-C and assume that it is operating at USB 3-Type C speeds. At the very best, the end user may not care, so long as it does the job it is supposed to do (which it does), but at worst, the consumer may feel deceived that things are not as they appear. While this design decision does not perceptibly impact performance, it's still good information to know.

Again, I want to thank you for your observations, sharing your experience with the products, and for the catch.
