Engineering for Druids in WoW Classic

Am I right to think that Engineering is probably not a good profession choice for Druids in WoW Classic, because  it seems a lot of the engineering items cannot be used in Druid forms ?

    if you want to play druid properly, you will shapeshift a lot so you have definitely time to make use of engineering

    As a Druid, I got engineering just for the googles so I could see the other faction in stealth.  It was the difference between live or death on a PvP server.  Also works in battlegrounds.

    I'm assuming earning gold will be challenging again, and engineering is a gold sink therefore a poor choice starting fresh.

    Get yourself a couple of gathering skills first, sell everything for gold, buy your mounts/ riding skills then respec later into engineering.
