Gonna give this one a go. Been following it for a while and decided to wait till Steam.
Loved UO and preferred Trammel tbh , role playing in guild vs guild pvp scenario. Enjoyed PVE there also. Fellucca was always available and worth a run from time to time but generally grief.
Ive seen a few game -play vids and seen negative and positive things written. The positive things are telling me this is worth a go and i'd would love to get into some RP stuff again.
I'm interested in any positive experiences in this. As I'm already gonna spend the cash, I'd like to find the negatives out for myself.

Shards DO NOT work...period.Now if you want to make a shard to just mess around by yourself or with a few friends,so be it but it segregates the community into tiny pockets of nothing.
If a world/zone is a decent size,you need 1500-5000 players per server to keep it looking decently busy.If you have all these tiny shards with 5/10/25 players,it really just becomes a single player game.IS there a better way/answer to allow modding,no there isn't right now that i can think of.
So it ends up being like for example similar to one of my Atlas shard/servers.So then it comes down to,can Aria offer what Atlas offers when considering it will be a SMALL,very small tiny shard with a few players?I highly doubt Aria can offer what Atlas has,i just don't see anyone topping Atlas for quite some time because the next leap is to take Atlas "survival game" and mix it with a questing/themepark game.
I think it will happen but not for awhile,several years but eventually we get a mix of a survival game and a themepark all wrapped into one package with full modding YAY !!.
