This is one MMO i'll play when it launches. If it launches. Hopefully, I'm master or grandmaster at SC 2 by the time that happens.

But did they do further iterating on gimbaled weapons? It’s not a SC patch if that line isn’t in there.

The only problem i have with this game is that they make so much money on this game and its not even out so why release it. Once the game releases then people will play the game and leave and they won't make as much. So why release the game when you make so much money selling promises.

Because they made in 7 years a fraction of what Publishers are doing in a single release and that current backers count is a fraction of the final players.
No company can live forever on promise. Proof is that a new investors came in end of 2018 bringing 40M$ on the table and CIG provided a Beta end of Q2 2020.

The upstate is a patch for a game ind development. No Publishers ever give access to their code during development, never.
Each patch bring new contents and features but also bugs. This is obvious. So either you wait a month or two after each patch or you wait till the project match the minimum quality you are expecting for.

I thought that 40 million was for 'advertising'?

Also its not 2020, not even close so how can you claim theyre bringing a beta in the middle of it? They have had 7 years and 250 million and 3.6 is it. You think what they have done in 7 years is some miracle. So does everyone else but yours is the exact opposite of how the majority views that 'miracle'. You really think they will have a beat ready SQ 42 ready in a year? When was the retail release of that ORIGINALLY? 4 or 5 years ago? What is the current retail release calender?

ANY and I do mean ANY random developer and publisher who got 250 million could have released a much better tech demo than what has been released by these guys. Even if it was spread out over 7 or 8 years. And this thing isnt even halfway to playable let alone halfway to all the promises and feature creep crap thats been added.

like I have said for the past 5 years they have a cottage industry going theyre suckering 'citizens' into supporting a few hundred people and also affording Roberts and his cronies the ability to live like rock stars. But also (apparently) doing just enough to keep all the fish on the hook.

No one has played SQ42 yet, they only let us play SC and have another team developing SQ42. Lots of big actors motion captured and are voice acting in it. Going to be great in 2020, cant wait.

It's hard to keep count anymore, but one of the times they got sued in court, it was over refunds again; the judge ruled as long as CIG can prove that they are in development, they cannot be held accountable.

Now you know why they "rework" the same mechanic over and over again. "See? it's still in development, no refunds."

    Catching on?

Star Citizen went into development before this movie released in theaters.

Feel old yet? You should, because they made and released 16 more MCU movies after Iron Man 3.

I would be somewhat interested in SC if it launches, but SQ42 looks like an $19.99 steam space game with expensive actors taped onto it.

There are bugs like doors killing people, ladders killing people and people clipping through everything that have existed from day 1.

An do you know how much those 500+ employees are now costing per year? 2019 will see CIG's expenditure cost over $60 million, while they bring in $37-$40 million from selling game assets.
The development of this project is now over $300 million and the game is a fraction of what it's supposed to be.

Current backers count is much more than a fraction of the final players. If they end up making a good game they'll be able to get maybe 2-3 times their current player number, but anything above that is going to get really hard.

I had to read that 4 times to understand what you were trying to say.

It'd be nice if you'd consider us non-native English speakers and include at least some of the punctuation and capital letters to make the text more readable, please.

    >> "how can you claim theyre bringing a beta" Because they informed all including private investor that target was Mid-2020 for SQ42 beta. Now you can stick with vaporware or scam and wallow the quarterly patch :)

<< "When was the retail release of that ORIGINALLY? 4 or 5 years ago?" Wrong. As you know it for sure (but does not match your naysayer behavior) scope have change back mid-2014 with massive backer approval (+75%) and 30M$ every single year since then.
>> "I do mean ANY random developer and publisher who got 250 million could have released a much better tech demo" because you seems to miss basic education about Finance, company creation follow up and game development at large, a triple-A does not cost 60M$ (as per EA claim for BF5 for instance) but 60M + hundred M$ used to create over years company around the world, pipelines, game engine tweaks and hire hundreds of employees.

<<" affording Roberts and his cronies the ability to live like rock stars"... A massive big LOL. Pledges are used to create studios from scratch and pay +500 employees over years. What CR got is a negligible fraction of it. Big money (in CR hands) is AFTER release, when most fix costs are being because tech will be finalized and much more people are getting in. MMO's make cash with micro-transactions. The initial creation is only costs.
Again you show your abysmal low education about basics.

"Who is in charge of Q&A?" In short a fraction through Cloud Imperium staff and mainly through Evocati and backers... precisely to not have a 100 Q&A staff (because of costs) while backers are there to test a game in development.
If you get in to play a finished product, you totally missed the concept of Kickstarter and Alpha status, the real one, not some pre-purchase 3 months before release done by EA.

I saw a breakdown by someone on another mmo gaming news website site saying that if you play 3 hours a day it will take you roughly a year to earn a ship that someone is willing to pay 400 dollars for . If that is true Star Citizen will be one of the worst examples of pay to win the mmo genre has ever witnessed .

Love the idea of the game though but there is a lot about it that worries me in this regard .
