Majority of silver and gear influx into the game has been done through these weekly events. The entire game has been reduced to a never-ending revolving door of events.

Might as well rename the entire game to:

    Weekly Events Online

I hate participation trophy rewards. You logged on! Grats here are some goodies. You logged on and stayed logged on for a couple of hours. Here are more goodies. How pathetic that kind of thing is. It comes from a mindset of just give me shit, and I don't even care why.

Log in events are done to boost the playerbase numbers - and hopefully to get those returning players to spend money in the cash shop.

Same thing goes with all the classes they release - there is a very good reason why many cash shop bought things are character bound - again they want to have players spend each time for each new class.

As with all things in BDO - it all leads to the same place - cash shop.

Don't mistake the titles or numbers of posts to mean anything - they don't.

It is best to 100% ignore all that and comment on the content of each post instead.

So now that that's out of the way - what exactly do you find amiss with my post about BDO shifting focus entirely to events?

Ok ask yourself a question - in the last 6 months - has there even been a single week without some kind of an event being active in BDO?

    hmm?

Aren't all MMORPG awards participation rewards? "You killed ten rats, grats! Here are some goodies. You killed ten wolves, grats! Here are some goodies. You killed ten bears, grats! Here are some goodies. You killed ten orcs, grats! Here are some goodies. . . . . . You killed ten Apocalyptic Princes of the Nether Realm, grats! Here is the Bustier of Godly Might, and the Demonic Thong of Epic Protection."

"You have kept me at your beck and call for fifteen years. I shall never again do what you demand of me. By every rule of single combat, from this moment your life belongs to me. Is that not correct? Then I shall simply declare you dead. In all of your dealings with me, you'll do me the courtesy to conduct yourself as a dead man. I have submitted to your notions of honor long enough. You will now submit to mine."

In a way yes - BUT - this event rewards stuff for just logging in and going afk.

Don't have to do anything at all.

At least killing 10 rats requires minimal effort on players part.

The rewards are the same crap each time....PEOPLE there is one set of armor in this game. Every class uses the exact same armor. Why is this game even alive? There is no end game, there is no dungeons, this is no need to group, there is no balance to pvp, there is 0 difficulty doing anything, there is nothing to be gained from doing anything in this pile...

Gotta say BDO has one of the most active developers constantly enhancing the game; not just launching events. The Remastered graphics was breathtaking and I find it hard to spend too long in other MMOs afterwards. I wish other games would follow suit with renewing their graphics really.

I disagree - remastered graphics ended up just being lighting and VFX.

Not that the game needed it - it looked fine before remaster, one thing that remaster needed to fix was the asset pop-in but its still there as it's a base engine limitation.

Adding more vfx is not renewing graphics imo

The game has had weekly events since Day 1 of release... that is a very odd comment to make "DMKano". Do you even play BDO? You are complaining about weekly events but yet, there have been events *literally* every single week since the game released. So you wait 3 years to complain about it? This is all quite odd.

Without weekly events, BDO would be boring and burn out would hit quickly. The events keep the game fresh and are an integral part of the game. Sometimes there are login reward events and other times there are different events. The events help progression immensely for those not able to sit in Mom's basement and no life the game 24/7. What is really interesting to me is why gamers love to trash talk these games. If you don't like it, don't play it and move on? It's quite simple to me. Not every single game in existence has to fit your mold of a perfect game.

I played for different reason. I enjoyed the exploring, farming, trading, worker empire, crafting, horse breeding, housing among other aspects and found the game immensely fun.
