I still don't get people obsession with the jedi or sith stuff, since most of the time its more or less the same archetype of history.

Thought it looked horribly boring & generic, the only thing it had going for it was the Star Wars coat of paint. I was really hoping this was going to be a open world RPG like say Skyrim or Witcher or a Naughty dog/Tomb Raider type adventure puzzle game set in the Star Wars universe. Instead what it looks like we got was a generic on rails 3rd person shooter with a lightsaber

Agreed. This was a title that Respawn was already making when EA approached them to make it into a SW game. They reskinned the game they were already making and here we go. I am not a fan of Space Wizards (SW) but I am a fan of Respawn but this does not look impressive to me.

    PROS:
    - New Star Wars game!! (I'm a huge Star Wars fan, but not so much of the new movies...a story for another time...)

    - Sights and sounds of the amazing Star Wars universe and atmosphere are always awesome

    - The (seems like) freedom and flexibility to be creative in the usage of our skills and abilities. For example, there were two moments (sorry, too lazy to provide timestamps ;p) that made me feel this way: 1) an enemy shoots a blaster bolt towards us, force slow time is used to slow the enemy AND blaster bolt, enemy is pulled close then moved into the path of the slowed blaster bolt, time is released and the blaster bolt hits the force held enemy; and 2) force pulling an enemy then pushing them onto another to make them both fall down in a heap of trooper bodies (not entirely new, granted, but it looked polished)

    - We get more time with (and hopefully more back story of) Saw Guerrera a la Forrest Whittaker! (spelling?)

    CONS:

    - Rails rails rails!

    - As @wizardry pointed out, AI seems woefully lacking at times

    - Is it just me, or does the hero's lightsaber hilt and blade both seem a bit...long?

    - I've never been a fan of permanent companions / pets you MUST play with, so I didn't like that droid on your back the whole time, but the little guy might grow on me...

Anyways, I'm excited to play it, for sure. Here's hoping that perhaps one day we'll all get a proper MMORPG in the SW Universe (for the record, I loved SWG, and had a blast-turned-love-hate relationship with SWTOR)!!
    "Good game!"

Looks like more EA Drivel to me. Seriously. I don't want a game that tells me which way I need to go nor how I need to play. And it's the year 2019 why can't we pick the protagonists gender. Since the main character is CLEARLY not in any of the movies they either died or disappeared so what does it matter? It's EA though so all the best stuff will be locked behind extra paid fences.

Hopefully people don't lose their mind over the Alpha footage considering what happened with Anthems "Reveal Trailer". If EA have a hand in it something gonna come along and fuck it all up, I hope i'm not right though.

Looks like a (New)God of War/Tomb Raider/Last of Us/Uncharted type of game. Fairly linear story focus, high production values.. good gameplay is a bonus but not the whole point. Cinematic experience above all else.

I'm pretty disappointed, but not surprised. It looks entirely on rails, just like Force Unleashed and the campaign story in Battlefront 2. Apparently they think that's the only way to make a Star Wars game, on rails. Once again we are following a predetermined path where shit stands around waiting for you likea diorama, then jumps out at you like a haunted house, oogla boogla!

To think they actually canceled the open world Star Wars game for this? God forbid you live your own Star Wars Story, or one that can take different paths from play to play. I might pick this up for $4 next holiday sale since it's cheaper than a trip to Galaxies Edge at Disneyland. I guarantee the replayability of this game is zero for me.

Its EA, Making a graphically beautiful game with as little substance as possible is what they do.

First off, what's up with his Lightsaber? It looks so fake, like those custom sabers from SWTOR lol. Doesn't look like any proper LS I know(white core's missing and quite obviously so).

Second, looks like The Force Unleashed 3. Interesting, but nothing truly special.

Watching the stage show I got the impression for the developers faces they truly are not proud of what they were forced to make by EA and Disney lol. In fact the comments on the live stream on Youtube were so negative they shut them down for about 2 or 3 minutes to clean some of them up.

I don't blame Disney they didn't give EA the IP. EA had it in 2011 when they made SWTOR and Disney bought Star Wars in 2012.  There have been grumblings that Disney has not been happy with EA either and that is without the BF2 controversy. I think its the reason they are bring back LucasArts. They are going to cut out the middleman when EA loses the licence.

Obviously though that is just a theory. The grumblings may be true but who knows what is going to happen when the license expires.

Another flaw : "emotion" / Jedi's don't show emotion, so I beleive this might turn into a sith game.
There is a multiverse inside our minds which millions live.

My impression is that it is just another platform-stalk-assassinate game with Star Wars dressing. I LIKE the little droid companion, but I wonder if there are options, maybe even a small biological companion. I wonder about the mapping and how many times you actually have to play a stage before you don't get killed.

Anyway, I'm looking for a co-op creative RPG with some serious AI and role-playing.

More info has come out and its a hard pass from me. Its dark souls star wars. They have stated that enimies will come back after you get to save point, you can lose skill points if you die and have one chance to get them back, and that you can't just stroll into a fight and expect to win. I personally don't care for Souls like games.

    Looks fun to me.

EQ1, EQ2, SWG, SWTOR, GW, GW2 CoH, CoV, FFXI, WoW, CO, War,TSW and a slew of free trials and beta tests

Guy must be a grey Jedi, he's using Dark side powers, unless Disney changed the definition.

Has someone been filling your head with garbage again? They need to keep them in balance, under control as it were, not completely obliterate them. The "there is no..." version of Jedi Code isn't the real one.

Edit: With that said, that is the modern outlook on Jedi, so...I understand from where you're coming from.

I am calling the real name of this game no matter what EA calls it...Star Wars Ghost Dog: Way of the Jedi.

Also, this game takes place after Order 66, between Ep3 and Ep4 and before the events of Rogue One. The main character is a padawan who managed to escape the purge, not yet a jedi. So while he's obviously had training, he may be more in line with Rey, i.e. an adolescent/young adult who is in the process of discovering their attunement with the force.
