I’m also really excited to subscribe to SWTOR again in September for Onslaught, even if it’s for only one month. I always will pay for more story content.
I guess he is shy because he has a family and stuff but he doesn't need to be.
First of all I hate that FFXIV has zero class customization. Literally none... If I'm playing a WM there is nothing that makes me differentiate myself from any other WM out there. No talent system, no skill customization, no item differences. Nothing... This is my biggest problem about this game.
Secondly the combat is a big problem. I'm not saying ESO has a great combat system either. It has its own problems. But the gcd and the intended skill lag in FFXIV is getting on my nerves tbh.
And lastly how they handle the pvp content is ridiculous. Most of your skills are removed in pvp, again you have no customization, same gcd applies in pvp and it is a much much bigger problem because at least in dungeons and raids they are designing fights around that stupid gcd so you will be more comfortable playing with it. But in pvp it is outrageous. I tried playing Gw2 for pvp and focus only the pve content in FFXIV but it doesn't work. I'm the kind of a guy that enjoys playing one mmorpg and focus on it alone. I hate playing multiple mmos at the same time.
This is really sad for me because I love both the community and the world of FFXIV a lot more than ESO but while I have these serious issues with FFXIV, other than some minor issues ESO is a complete package for me.
So for me definetetly Elswear (althiugh I will wait a little b/c imo ESOs expansions are overpriced at release).
there is no skill lag.....better check your internet connection and ff14 is a better game than eso. and wow
Yep... this. ^
There is skill lag and it's a very well known "issue" and the reason why Ninjas were one of the least played classes for a long time. They had what was known as "Mudra Lag". The innate lag made their Mudra casting really really hard. The Devs actually adjusted this "innate lag" just for the Mudras at one point, so Ninjas could actually and more easily go through a full rotation.
However if i am choosing a game,i am NEVER picking a worse game to play just because skills have lag in another game.I quit TESO the very first day,i played FFXIV for around 6 months,i think it is pretty obvious which one held my interest longer.
However if i had to choose i'd choose neither that is why i play Atlas.Sadly all developers now think mmorpg=linear progression, hand holding, instances and gaited content.Atlas is not even a AAA game but it still does a better job at delivering an immersive rpg experience than ANY mmorpg does.
If anyone thinks chasing yellow markers over a npc head is rpg gaming, think again.FFXIV SE are at least good at delivering content ideas that stick to the theme of a rpg and are a bit unique.Sadly much of FFXIV is like Wow 2.0.
If mmorpg developers can't figure out simple terms like IMMERSION "MMO" "RPG" then i'll stick to playing other games until mmorpg's can figure it out.
Never forget 3 mile Island and never trust a government official or company spokesman.
I have the exact same problem. Already reinstalled ESO and every day its mouse over the ESO icon to finally finish Morrowind expansion and then start Summerset, but then my mouse magically moves to the Division 2 icon and whoops I'm in Washington -_-
Whats even worse is that i actually also plan to return to FFXIV too and need to catch up aswell since I've left Stormblood at lvl 66...
Damn it I need a 48h day ffs!!!
I'm not an IT Specialist, Game Developer, or Clairvoyant in real life, but like others on here, I play one on the internet.
For ESO -- the ability lag would always throw me off. When I tried to go back recently, that very lack of direction is what killed it for me in less than a day.
FFXIV was pretty tough to like as well. Different reasons though. Grinding through the same early lack of content multiple times to unlock professions (or whatever they called them) wasn't exciting the first time much less on a second, third, fourth try.
I'm glad others have had much better experiences but I'm still hoping to find a MMO that appeals to me sometime in the next few years.
Those 2 screenshots are two very good reasons not to play FFXIV for me. Not sure which is worse of the two. I absolutely hated ESO when it came out, and again 2 other times I tried to force myself to get past lvl 30 and couldnt do it.
I think it's the sad state of games that on the 4th try just lately I have been playing it for about a month now and dont hate it, mostly because there isn't much out there I havent completely worn out or have more problems with.
The same problems are still there, and world feels shallow and boring but I've been sucked in just enough to want to twink out some below 50 pvp toons and find that mildly entertaining.
Can't wait for a real game with good combat, world and classes again that isnt dumbed down for consoles.
Why wait.. they have been around for a while now.. Oh right.. no one plays them, so they have to market to console players.
My SWTOR referral link for those wanting to give the game a try. (Newbies get a welcome package while returning players get a few account upgrades to help with their preferred status.)

Will see if I stick with FFXIV to level 70 and get prepped for new expac, but at this point I'm so hooked I definitely feel like I'll at least complete the main story quests.
