i know graphics arent everything but man this game looks extremely dated. For me personally, when a game looks that bad it just kills it for me.

There is just something about the art I don't love. Who knows if that was only the style or falvour of the one area. . but yeah. . something seemed off.

Please keep on topic, folks which is gameplay from The Outer Worlds.

On topic: I dunno....the 1st person perspective just deflates my interest. I guess I'll wait for reviews on story and gameplay to see if I'll pick it up at a later date.

How so? I mean Oblivion, Skyrim are both FPS. Same with TESO. Sure they can be made into TP by scrolling out, but FPS is the way it's meant to be with character focused, directional based attack skills. Right?

I think the graphics are perfectly adequate, any complaints there are getting nit-picky I say. They should be focusing on gameplay first and foremost as that is what is severely lacking in MMOs anymore.

What Obsidian do often is to take engine of a game and make sequel/variation in the same engine. This way they did their famous Fallout New Vegas

This is obvious re-use of Fallout engine ( again ) , just with sci-fi theme. What Obsidian does good is story, quests ... but actual gameplay, not so much

The graphics aren't adequate, but it's not done either so I'm stowing pitchfork and torch until later.

The bitching about it being first person is kinda hilarious though.

Fallout is made with Creation Engine. This game is using Unreal Engine 4.

I, too, thought it was Creation because the graphics look just as old... so I had a look what engine they are using the other day.

Don't understand what was so funny to make crowds shout and clap... Guess my humour is not that easily tickled.

There was nothing funny - we are regressing into idiocracy so masses will laugh at anything

'the only way he could nail it any better is if he used a cross.'

    Kyleran on yours sincerely

'But there are many. You can play them entirely solo, and even offline. Also, you are wrong by default.'

Ikcin in response to yours sincerely debating whether or not single-player offline MMOs exist...

'This does not apply just to ED but SC or any other game. What they will get is Rebirth/X4, likely prettier but equally underwhelming and pointless.

It is incredibly difficult to design some meaningfull leg content that would fit a space ship game - simply because it is not a leg game.

It is just huge resource waste....'

Was was mildly intrigued about the game when it was first revealed. Then they said it would be exclusive to EPIC for a year and will also be MS store, I lost most interest in the game. The two stores I don't like. I thought I might pick it up on the PS4 instead, but after watching this I think I'm giving it a pass.

I don't mind some humor in games, but I didn't find anything funny or entertaining in what they showed. I thought the humor in MEA was cringe worthy at best and this is reminding me of that.

I'm torn on the first person perspective. I love playing skyrim if fist person, but games like this I prefer in 3rd person. This is my main hangup with Cyberpunk 2077 as well. That alone won't keep me from playing a game, but coupled with other things I don't like, it may very well be the deciding factor.

I will continue to watch how things progress, but as of right now, it's leaning towards me passing on it.

I'm not an IT Specialist, Game Developer, or Clairvoyant in real life, but like others on here, I play one on the internet.

Wow that looks worse than Mass Effect Andromeda.. Hopefully this will be fixed when it's eligible for purchase elsewhere besides Epic Games (1939).

I'd compare this more with "We Happy Few" than mass effect andromeda.

The Outer Worlds - PAX East 2019 Gameplay Demo Walkthrough - MMORPG.com

During this weekend's PAX East, Obsidian Entertainment showed off a 20-minute demo that spotlighted a short-duration quest. The player is accompanied by two of the game's companions, Felix and Nyoka. During gameplay, several systems are shown including character customization, combat, weapons, loot, and the branching dialog system.

    Hello everyone,,

By 2020 when it comes out in Steam it will look less rough, more polished with more content and better price.
I won't support Epic's agressive practices buying their exclusives.
    Sorry for Obsidian...

    Thank you,...

I think they are showing us this too early.I heard dude mention the voice overs are not in yet but they would go a long way in improving the scenes instead of looking at a chat box.I "think"most of the buildings are 2D static buildings. The one they entered i believe was also an instance so things were not looking too promising as is.
The people talking and giggling didn't help,i mean giggling at anything and everything turns me off.I give them props for the idea,it is unique but acting for a movie, this doesn't look fun at all,i was getting bored watching it.

Seeing this idea i can't help but think how they could improve it and it needs to be better,as is it doesn't look fun or even interesting.Maybe we can take another look 6 months from now but for now, doesn't look good.

Never forget 3 mile Island and never trust a government official or company spokesman.

Maybe shouldn't support steams aggressive profit cut either? Just a thought.
