Well of course that the division 2 (aka 1.5) is more polished and has more content than Anthem, also anthem has done some things horribly wrong.
But in 6-12 months Anthem will have more players than The Division 2, once they fix the bugs and add more content, for the sole reason that the "core gameplay" and "moment to moment gameplay" is better in Anthem.

Today is the end of my four day shift and the game has been loaded since the start of it. I can't wait to get home and start trying it out.

My philosophy on the matter is that I may play both and I absolutely want both to succeed, but I'll take 60+ hours of awesome gameplay (Anthem) over a much larger game with good gameplay (the Division).

Yeah, the division is a typical cover shooter, and anthem is not. Duh.

    Lmao!! :D :D

I want Division 2 to succeed. I wanted the first to do as well, but the start was very bad, and I had to stop playing.
It took Division 3 years to get where it is.
Elder Scrolls, couple of years as well.
    Destiny, a couple of years.

I am certain Anthem is going to succeed as well, and I dare hope, moving past these previous games.

Still surprised about the criticism Anthem have received, especially looking back at those other games. I feel Anthem launched with only minor problems from my end.

(My opinion does not count for much these days. I really enjoyed Fallout 76 too, until I saw the light (or a specific patch) and finally had to break my disc).

Anthem dont Have 6-12 Months, also, in 6-12 Months The division 2 will have even more content. I played Anthem and really liked, but they did everything wrong, is gonna be really hard to fix that.

Division 2 is beyond just good game play. They deserve the praise they are receiving. There are mechanics and things that are done in combat unlike anything I have seen. Anthem missed it's mark, for now.

And vice versa. Anthem has basically only one thing going for it: its insanely fun and addicting Gameplay. I've played around 15h of div2 now. Everything is polished, almost everything works. But. It's not really all that fun. It's ok. Maybe even more than ok. Anthem blew me away with its gameplay. Div2 just produces a light breeze. It seems we are so used to to incomplete games that when an above average complete game comes along we all rave.

All playing div2 does for me is making me lament the fact that Anthem was so incomplete on release.

Because they have short memories, and they're the essence of hypocrisy.

The problem is though that Anthem does not have a steady income stream like those games you mention through DLC or a sub.  If people do not buy the game then EA will abandon and either do Anthem 2 or just move on to the next Mass Effect or Dragon Age.  Games flop all the time and Anthem will not be the last to have issues.

I really enjoy Anthem's combat game play, setting, and general feel more than I do the Division 2. However, Anthem is so sorely lacking polish, QoL improvements, and game flow compared to the Division 2.

Logging into Anthem to try the newest patch after playing Division 2 really highlights how poorly optimized and polished the game is -- despite being incredibly fun to play. Bugs that lead to 1/2 my quickplay missions being bugged or spawning at the end boss of a stronghold because people leave before hand (since bosses are just giant bullet sponges that are only guaranteed to drop an item you problem don't need anymore) really detracts from the game. Even more so when the loading screens heavily bog down your ability to get into a mission that actually works.

I'm certain that over the next year or so Anthem will grow to have the same level of polish that the Division 2 has, but that remains to be case for now. The Division 2 is an immaculately polished game and truly exceeded my expectations since I never played the original; however, even those who played the original seem to be impressed, which is a tough feat to accomplish for most sequels.

I don't feel one is necessarily better than the other in terms of game play, they are just different.

As for the cover mechanics in TD2, they get increasingly more complex as the game enters its end game. The entire premise is that cover shooters require you to be in cover to stay alive, but enemies become much more adept at removing players from cover. If you're not actively aware of what's happening, you won't survive.

What TD2 does really well, is it keeps you in the action at all times. Once loaded into the game, there are no loading screens or frivolous menu or loadout issues that take you out of the action. Everything is one big cohesive world.

MMORPG.com is so subjective, and 100% biased. Tons of division 2 bugs and technical issues make it a broken game.

I mean this is the same website that spent 90% of Fallout 76's multi page review weaving a lovely little metaphor to excuse its bugs. (Blah blah, different reviewers, different games, different bugs, blah).

Really stretching here. The first link you posted was fixed in less than 12 hours and wasn't an issue with the division 2 specifically, that was for geforce now/nvidia shield.

The second one was from BETA.

The third one is a known issue. Hardly game breaking, inconvenient at best. Gear scaling isn't working in terms of normalization of stats. Simply put, players can't jump in at level 5 and play with a level 25 and expect their gear to scale properly.  As long as you stay within 5 levels you're good, which, most people are within that scale when leveling, because the missions all have level restrictions and suggested minimums for the area.

There is one major issue that affects some people, in regards to crashing. Some people have experienced intermittent crashes, but it's not an issue on console, only on PC and only for a very small subset of people, so while Ubisoft is working on fixing stability for them, it isn't some sort of scam.

@Pher0cious I'll bet you didn't know you can email your tips in any time and we'll cover them. news@mmorpg.com -- feel free and we'll even credit you for the find.

But because you put up the links so graciously, I'll take a look. You realize it's Monday morning after the game went into official release Friday, right?

On a positive note there seems to be plenty of game time for fans of both games. Not sure why one has to be compared to the other. Like what you like. Do what you do.

In the same manner: Ring of Elysium is everything The Division 2 is not. For starters, it's not boring and characters looks *much* better.

BTW MMORPG.con should write more about Ring of Elysium - it's more popular than Smite (for example) and it's the most fun BR game I've seen. Actually it's borderline amazing: I didn't even like PvP to begin with- yet the game managed to drag me into the genre.
