That wasn't a film, that was a trailer.

Only thing I took away from that trailer is that I wish they did a Dune game in the style of Anthem, as for Anthem I mean I love the genre but this is just giving me the MEH's.

I must admit that I am totally confused. I watched the trailer but didn't really get "Anthem feels" from it, but more like "generic sci-fi feels". As a trailer, I think it fails since it's also confusing and begins a story that literally makes no sense. Maybe it'd have been better to release the trailer after the game.

As a promotional piece, at least for me, it misses the mark.
It misses the mark for me too. It sort of has that generic summer "blockbuster" release "we-have-no-story-but-how-about-that-CGI?" vibe to it. But that's the feel I've been getting about Anthem all along: lots of bun but no beef.

I liked District 9 and Elysium so I would watch this as a movie. (unattached to the game)
As a trailer its far better than all those movie trailers that give away the whole story and show all the action in the movie in them.

Tastes vary - I really liked the trailer - would totally watch the movie.
Yeah but you're the guy who hates stories in RPGs... which has always struck me as a "why bother with them then?" kind of thing.

How did folks look at this and not instantly recolonize it as a trailer? Even with the poor wording/text mishaps when they released it on twitter. Come on ya'll.
I like to complain about games.

That was a pretty epic 3 min shot film hehe almost seems like they would have had to write an shoot a whole movie to pluck that stuff out. I would totally watch this movie too :D

It was pretty well done, but I honestly don't have any clue what the story was even about after seeing it.

Even Neil Blomkamps shortest short films (comes in around 2:30-40) don't have this kind of "trailer" feel.

I'm interested to know WHO called this the film?

    MMORPG or EA

They anounce it as a "Short movie"

As I want to play a good game, not watch footage this is meaningless to me. If the game gets good reviews then my interest in the lore will soar, until then this is just advertising.

I'm sorry game makers but I still see nothing unique or compelling about this game or its lore. Something a few years ago I would never have felt I could have possibly said about a Bioware game.
What's not to like about being motherfucking Iron Man and smacking bad guys?!?

Marketing has dumped a fortune into this game. You would think that Biowares very existence depended on the success of this game. Then again, I have heard reports of a backhoe at work in the EA graveyard. ;)

I'm not an IT Specialist, Game Developer, or Clairvoyant in real life, but like others on here, I play one on the internet.

They should have spent the money on content developers instead.

This feels like FFXV all over again. Spend money telling the story outside of the game so that people can't complain the game has no story.

Looks epic. The scenes felt a bit disjointed though.
