No thanks. I am tired of these survival games only supporting up to 120 players. It's plane lazy development. There is software and hardware these days that can support many more players then this in today's age . It seems these game devolupers don't even want to put any effort into the net code and just settle on the deafult the game engine is capable of .
Too many developers are satisfied with off-the-shelf system software, and don't want the expense of developing their own.  It's difficult.  It's costly.  It's time-consuming.  All that means money, either money the developer must spend some to acquire talent, or they must defer revenue until their networking project is finished.  So, they settle on the specs the development package/API imposes on them.

On the bright side, games can come to market quicker.  On the down side, developers need to tailor their product to live within the constraints of the SDK.  Worse yet, developers have to keep their wild promises in line with these limitations.

Also, I'm very anti-Early Access and not particularly keen on mech combat.   Pass for now, but I'm likely to look at this again once it's out of EA.

Logic, my dear, merely enables one to be wrong with great authority.

Is it really lazy or are there other factors?

Maybe it's more in keeping with a certain style or that having smaller communities makes for a different experience.

I'm fairly certain that players saying "but you can have sooooo manyyyy moar players" isn't going to have them suddenly hit their heads and say "omg they are right! How could we have missed this!"

And maybe making a game where thousands of players can build creates its own problems over a few hundred?

It's so easy for players to start pointing out that developers are lazy and stupid and don't put effort into their work but I think it's more about developer reality and not the fantasy that some players think of as game development.

I don't think they are lazy and I don't think most developers aren't putting effort in.

I would not recommend this game right now... The in game performance has been terrible since the public release. If you want to try it, wait a week or two, and see if they get it under control.
